I 100% relate to so many things. I’m on sort of a gap year myself, and I totally feel how the lack of structure makes you even more likely to get in a slump. Also totally get the rushing videos and perfectionism bit. For me, what has helped is ironically planning less and doing more. Deciding: okay I’m going to do X every day for 1 month, and sticking to it, no matter how small it is (eg language learning for at least 15min). Whilst scheduling in compulsory things like classes that get me out of the house haha. You got it Anna!! 💪🏻

Sometimes i feel like over-planning can stop you from getting started because you said you struggled with perfectionism, i was stuck in the same phase were i would plan every single thing and just never start because i wanted things to be perfect from the get go. I deleted notion for that reason and decided I would stop planning, trust the process and simply start living in the moment taking one day at a time and doing things that would keep me happy and also allow me to step out of my comfort zone from time to time. I bought a new journal and wrote down how i felt at the end of each day, what i did or did not do, how i felt that day, just dump anything that was on my mind and just kept things moving. I feel like some people are really cool they just don’t plan at all, they get an idea or something they wanna try out and they just go ahead and do it. if they don’t like it anymore they switch it up. Feels so easy to live that way sometimes. Although planning is not a bad thing to do. Just another perspective that living spontaneously and in the moment makes me feel more happier now than being stuck on the future and following a plan all the time.

Gurl how are you so relatable yet inspiring!? 😫Like I relate to all the procrastination moments you have all too well but also I wish I was this productive and organised to get rid of those moments or atleast cover them up😅.

i completely get how you're feeling, i took a gap year during covid and it rlly does affect you suddenly having no structure whatsoever. some things that helped me were getting a job (which gave me structure), doing online classes (again for structure) working out regularly to start my day and just self-care >>>> I believe in you

My gap year's ending in a few months and I 100% get what you mean. Rn I'm being really productive and have a pretty good structure but the first few months was just me feeling overwhelmed by the lack of structure and all the self-rules and so on (keep in mind I also have adhd). Then I found Notion and a nice studying server on discord + some nice planners and I sat down and tried a bunch of new things. It took a while but I managed to find a routine/structure that works for me and is also not super strict but also not loose (my main problem was that I either made them too strict and then panicked when i messed them up or i made them too loose and didnt follow through). And yk, at the end of the day, that's also part of the journey when it comes to gap years, some days won't be super productive and that's okay!

Phew I can 100% relate to this. Here's a GREAT tip: instead of "I need", say "I want". It's surely still true, and it will bring down stress like crazy

I too am on a gap year, preparing for medicine.. a year younger than you. You are my role model anna.. i chose to work hard because of your LC series.. i still rewatch them when i need motivation. You cannot do this to me. You have to take yourself out of the rut to help me (and thousand others like me) get out of the rut. You might want a dream life series, I NEED IT.

Anna, thank u so much for filming such type of videos (about self-reflection; organising life and some psychological issues). I also feel lost now.. so many thoughts in my head, so many questions with no answer yet. Could u please say where did u find these questions (at the beginning of the video) for self-analyse?? Keep going, please! We will do it with u
@inspiredby-sx7wy2 жыл бұрын
I found myself also planning a lot, but what I think really helps is less planing, more doing. As you start doing you start learning in a self-reflective way, what functions and what not plus you have the good feeling of having done something. Not to say, that I don't like her planing routines, I really enjoy, watching them 😊

I think you should get a full focus planner along with notion. It helps me with planning daily and being productive. I recommend the one for teens and students because it’s cute and is most suited to young people.

All I wanna say is, thank you for mentioning that you waited 3 months to plan your gap year because when I clicked on your video, I thought "oh but she probably planned it before the year started, let's see what i can do" because my gap year already started and it's almost over tbh but this calmed me down a bit. I still rewatch this video and try to motivate myself to start the planning but it seems scary, especially because I don't have that many events in this year (also for clarification, in my case, the year started in september because of European school system)
