Travis, you need not make an opening statement. The things that you say can be used against you. You can also reserve the right to make your opening statement AFTER the prosecution presents their case. Talking about library security at the start is not going to benefit you. The prosecutor is going to go after you with the statute, one element at a time. Be prepared for that, and I wouldn't necessarily trust the advice if AI.

Travis..... In your opening statement, start off by letting them know that you wash thoroughly with vinegar. ONLY VINEGAR!! Secondly, tell them that you are an Airforce veteran, and use a tree-stump as a driver's seat! Thirdly inform them that you are "anti-sugar", and love grass/weed tea a bit too much. Ask them if THEY eat sugary breakfast cereals like that librarian does! You have nothing to lose Travis...... NOTHING. Treat your court appearance as a trip to the zoo! Remind them that you do not feel comfortable in their " Kangaroo Court "!! Ask them if you could get some help with your Ford Focus, which is pushing age 30! Plead with them to get your brakes fixed on your bicycle too...... Just admit to them that stripping the interior of your car was completely foolish as well! When they try to talk to you about these things, remember to INTERRUPT them continuously as well! What could go wrong at this point? 👃😂

Travis, if I were playing your AI lawyer, I would advise you to ask for an attorney again, even if you have been denied. Also, I would be asking the judge to 'revisit probable cause' .... failing that, your AI lawyer might wait until the prosecution rests their case and, before making an opening statement or calling my first witness I might ask the judge for a "Motion for a Directed Verdict of Acquittal" This motion argues that the prosecution has not presented sufficient evidence to prove every element of the charged offense, and if granted, it results in the dismissal of the charges. ....Ask your AI friend about "rule 29"

Thanks for sharing your interaction with an AI. I enjoyed the way your perspective was elicited from telling a story and how the AI didn't even flinch when you saddled it within the context of an opening statement for a criminal trial. I was surprised that the AI saw fit to flatter your critical thinking skills now as opposed to when the event occurred. Anybody would be surprised at the turn of events owing specifically to poor signage regarding the city's shared interests as a complainant in support of public servants. Why must the private citizen be constantly tolled? In any case... sounds as though you may need a little more than confidence. The most successful outcome for any litigator is to open up the door to a dual perspective. And then, deftly introduce compelling evidence backed by legal precedent, which allows the court to rule on the matter fairly. The cynics would say, "Good luck with that!" I, on the other hand, would ask whether it's in the interest of the public service system to establish the precedent of convicting on failure to ID secondary to someone obviously having a bad day. Take your pick as to whether that bad day belonged to you or the librarian. I see it belonging to a rather potent combination of city services trying to save face for an obvious overreaction by all of them. Don't forget to ask the judge to walk in the same shoes through the same thousand libraries without incident, as you have!

I caught something from another video that you will find interesting. I will send you it by email. In the 1983 case *State v. Hanapole*, the South Carolina Supreme Court held that Section 16-11-620 applies only to trespasses on private property and does not extend to public property. This interpretation was based on the understanding that the statute's language targets unauthorized entry into private spaces. I realize this is not in the same supreme court jurisdiction but maybe it can still be used in some way in all hopes.
