Planning Palo Pinto Mountains State Park, Texas

One of Texas' newest state parks is Palo Pinto Mountains State Park just a few miles down the road from Strawn. The park, which was purchased in 2011 with money from the sale of the undeveloped Eagle Mountain Lake site near Fort Worth, encompasses a little over 4000 acres in the Cross Timbers region. Planning for the park is currently underway, and it is expected that development and opening of the park are at least several years away. Here's a first look at some of the features of the park.

it says its in the design phase on their website. which i think is we bought the land and now waiting on approval to spend a few million... with economic struggles going on everywhere I'm guessing its going to be in the "design phase" for the next foreseeable future

I cant find it on the state parks website, is camping available there yet?

Not yet. The park is still being developed. The Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas and the Fort Worth Astronomical Society sometimes host star parties there.
