I ordered my first Hobonichi last December. While I waited I watched flip through and set up videos. I was thinking the other day I wish I could remember who influenced me so much last year because lots of what I've used mine for was from someone's video. I now have my 2021 set up and ready to go but thought I'd look for more ideas and this video popped up. A few minutes into your video I realized it was YOU who inspired me so much last year! Where you have your steps/weather tracking, I record the high/low, use the stencil for sun/rain/clouds, and sunrise and sunset times. Gray highlights at the bottom of each square and a color of the month at the top. I use the notes section in the back more like a journal if there's something outstanding from the day to write notes about (instead of your bullet journal). I have an order tracker (lots from Amazon this year!!), movies I've watched, vacation days scheduled/taken, lunch/snack ideas (mostly for returning to the office), books read, coffee dates with friends, songs/playlists on repeat, people we've lost and a tracker for sleep, weight, water and steps. And I LOVE your 100 words section. What a great idea! I've been using it to record things I love. (Coffee, chocolate, pens, etc.) Also, I use the right 1/3 of the left weekly page for gratitude each day. I've been using the Cocoa Daisy Weeks stickers each month but since I want to put the money elsewhere (and I have YEARS worth of stickers) I'm going to use what I have for 2021. So seeing your non-use of sticker kits is helpful. Thank you for your influence. More than any other Weeks flip through video, yours has been the most helpful and inspiring. Thank you for sharing with us! Happy 2021!

@LR so I typically have been using PeppiGel. But just recently switched to Sparkle&Co. [my whole family is in Canada. Sorry to hear about lockdown. Glad when this crazy time is over.] Still won’t go back to salon though. I’d see if S&Co ships to Canada. Their shipping takes longer than Peppi (although I could drive to Peppi, I live so close) but S&Co sizes make more sense and their liquids are better... and their customer service is WAY better. Highly recommend. If you put my name in the notes, you’ll get $18 off your next order (they claim I will too, but doubt they’ll find this Smith, lol).

Love your Hobo Weeks videos! 👍 If you’re looking for another great pen, try the Zebra Sarasa Dry pens. I like the 0.5 in blue-dark, crisp, doesn’t smear, and doesn’t bleed thru. They make smaller tip sizes and other colors but I prefer the 0.5 for my Hobo Weeks (I also love the 0.7 but the ghosting is darker on Tomoe River paper). HTH!

So, not sure if you're still fielding comments on this old video - which was awesome, by the way - but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around why one would use both a weekly spread and daily bujo lists. Is it just a matter of... being able to keep highlights of the week at-a-glance, making the *most* important tasks/events obvious, and then breaking down the minutiae of each day separately (since there isn't tons of space in the weekly spreads)? Is it sort of about keeping the week from looking less cluttered / overwhelming when you first glance at it? Really hoping to get into the groove with a planner this year and your advice (or that of your other kind subscribers) is very much appreciated. Thanks - another Melanie
@Addicted2Planning3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for delayed response. Yes, to all of it! I put future tasks on the weekly… and events, and need to see the whole week at a glance. Then daily - so many more tasks arrive. They’d never all fit on a weekly. Have you found your groove?
@melweismann3 жыл бұрын
@@Addicted2Planning Yes I have!!! I started out for ~2 weeks just relying on monthly and weekly spreads, but week 3 I added daily bujo lists and a) the daily lists get long but more importantly b) I can FOCUS on the day without being distracted by everything else on the weekly spread. It CLICKED! Thanks for your reply, I'm converted :) :) :)

Can you expand on the differences in your To Do list on your weekly spread versus the one on your dailies?
@Addicted2Planning4 жыл бұрын
Tasks get added to my “this week” spread if they are not date specific. If I want to get something accomplished this week, it goes there. However, if I have a day specific task, it usually hangs out on a flag until I write out my daily page... then I either throw out the flag, or migrate it forward if it’s a recurring task. Each day I will look at the weekly tasks to see if there’s something I can knock out. If I don’t get them accomplished, I will migrate them to next week’s weekly page. Eventually they will be due and end up on a daily page. I hope all that makes sense.... :)

From Wikipedia... Karen is a pejorative term for women seeming to be entitled or demanding beyond the scope of what is normal. The term also refers to memes depicting white women who use their privilege to demand their own way. Or As of 2020, the term was increasingly being used in media and on social media as a general-purpose term for middle-aged white women, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and Black Lives Matter protests.
