In striving for peace, I ask that you not put yourself down because you are different than others. It's OK if you don't like laundry, you're not alone. Mediation, 10 minutes, if it gives you peace, that's all that matters!!
@brendahafer75834 жыл бұрын
Ok, so color me weird, but laundry is my favorite household chore as long as I can hang them on the clothesline. On rainy or very cold days when I can’t hang them out, not so much. Clothesline clothes smell so much better. I am def gonna try this challenge, because my word for this year is discipline, because I am such a procrastinator and I want to work on being better at getting things done. I also want to lose some weight and be healthier, but I have zero self-control. These are my focus points for this year. Love your videos!

Brenda Hafer I totally agree. For me there is something almost zen like in hanging up laundry outside and then taking down and folding into the basket.

I love this! The way I get my 2 liters of water each day is to not let myself have coffee/tea/juice until I have finished my first bottle, which is 32oz. Two bottles is 2 liters so that little coffee/tea/juice reward after having half is nice! I love your goals!

Appreciate the time you put into your videos so much! Decluttering is overwhemling when you get started. A good way to keep the frustration down if it is a struggle is just to set your timer for 5-10 minutes a few times a day to get your goal time accomplished. Also, breaking up different areas still count, doesn't all have to be one single focus. Once you make a few donation drop offs or give away items it is so motivating. Areas that are emotionally hard, just tuck them neatly under you are ready!! You got this!! Thanks again for your inspiration!!

Awesome challenge!! I used to be hopeless in the laundry dept, but I started making myself fold the clothes as I pulled them out of the dryer and from there, it was easy to just put them away. I also find that having an 'assigned' laundry day is super helpful because I know it's going to get done on that specific day, no excuses. Good luck with your January challenge!!

"Uh oh, I left the white on that. Guess what. It's staying, cuz ... PEACE" had me choking on my drink. I struggle with laundry too. Hubby and I each do our own and the problem I run into is that my basket gets full but I don't have enough of each type (lights, darks, whites) to justify running a load in my mind. When it comes to laundry, I can procrastinate/rationalize the hell out of it like a champ. LOL

I used to separate my shirts on hangers by long sleeve short sleeve tank tops and each one of those sections were color coded! I am a perfectionist as well and I just couldnt keep up with it anymore with having 2 kids now. One thing that helped me is getting 4 baskets, one for each type (whites, colors, kids clothes and then 4th one for my husbands and I's clean clothes) and then i no longer fold or hang amd thing that doesnt wrinkle. Like basketball shorts, or shirts that are made of material that doesnt wrinkle- all goes in a drawer. Towels and washcloths now go in baskets in the closets. i have stopped separating my shorts like that and I dont match socks anymore!

I drink close to a gallon of water a day. I was hospitalized in 2015 for low sodium (which is very serious, I found out) and they restricted me to 1.5 liters of water a day, which the urologist said was the optimal amount of water intake a day. It was so hard to restrict it to that much. Luckily my low sodium was due to a medication and it normalized when I stopping taking the medication, so now I happily drink my gallon of water a day. Get a hydroflask or some sort of thing like that, and it really helps keep it cold and refreshing.

I have no idea of this will help any other planner babes, but every time I get a new sticker book, I peel off the sticky overlay sheet, and damn does it make peeling stickers off SO much easier! Yes, it takes a little time, at least until you become an old pro like me (I won’t tell you how many books I’ve peeled by now lol), and it can be super fiddly to start with, but once you get the hang of it, you can do an entire 30 page book in around 5 minutes. Oh, and have on hand some pointy tweezers and scissors, which will help a lot in the poking process!

I think this looks fantastic. I’m doing a different version of this already. This month I’ve started writing a morning gratitude journal to start my day with positive thoughts. I’ve started decluttering my wardrobe by doing laundry and sorting out all the keeps - donates - trash. Next month is NO SPEND and decluttering/organizing my kitchen and bathroom cabinets. I’m thinking about moving in November, so every month will have some decluttering along with the majority of your list so that whether I stay here another year, or move, I will be living with less junk and more peace of mind! Oh, I’ll be doing the walking in March or April. There is no way I’ll be doing that in July when the temps may be up in the 90’s! May I add that I’m fascinated by the way you pulled your monthly stickers from your book? I tend to use a full month all right in a row. You don’t. For some reason I fixated on this? A 39-year career of working in a university and revamping our processes every August may be the reason why...😉
