Love Undu! Use it all the time for both Planners and Scrapbooks! In a past video you were talking about whether it migrates to the other side. Not usually unless you use tons at one time and really saturate the page. It also depends on the weight of the paper. And some colored paper will bleed if the dye is not color fast.

My newest hobby is taking off the sticker backing (the last tip) once I saw you do it in a previous video. A lot of my books have puckered backing, perhaps from the way they are stored at retail shops before being put out. It's so satisfying to get the backing off though it takes some finesse with the tiniest stickers. I make it work though by pressing the stickers and peeling the backing almost horizontal to the page. So easy putting stickers back on a page or even consolidating pages that have only a few stickers left. The best tip I've received so far though I use many others you have shared! Thanks.

Great video! I use a Frixion Ball Slim in my Filofax Malden which is the planner I use for appointments and plans (ha ha), but then just a Sharpie Pen in my Happy Planner and my Simple Stories A5 planners which I use for budgeting purposes.

Frixion has been my go to pen for years, gives me the cleanest looking hand writing. Mine is blue ink and it's opaque enough for me. Never had an issue with fading either. Your writing looks very nice with this pen. Can I ask what brand that is?

I do love Frixion pens and use them when I do non-sparkly pens a lot. The markers are kinda light, but the pens are ok. They don't go over white out well though.

I'm 3:50 into your video and just had to comment on Frixion pens. LOL I Love Frixion pens! but I do not use them in my planner for fear of exactly what you said -- that I'll lose what I've written if ever exposed to heat. However, I have heard that you can "revive" what you've written by getting the ink/pages cold again. it will also revive whatever you erased as well...I'm just not willing to take the chance. So, here I am, getting lessons from you :)

I use Frixion pens, both their black and blue gel pens, their fine liners (which I’d compare to the Papermare Flare), and their highlighters. I do really love the gel pens, but they are much lighter in pigment than a regular gel pen, and sometimes when you erase it, it leaves a faint yellow impression of the word. I use them mostly for note taking and journaling, and find them most useful for that purpose. I use the fine liners for color coding my planner. They’re a little harder to erase, I’ve found, but they’re not the work felt tip pens I’ve ever used. The black fine liner, though, is straight up grey, and overall, the colors are a little on the light side. The light green is nearly impossible to read. And the highlighters come off a little chalky. You can see the pigment on top of the word. I use the pastel ones, though, so the chalky yellow pimentation on top of a black word may not be a problem in a neon hightlighter set.

Thank you SO much, Mary Ellen!!! I have dealt with every single one of these issues and I love your ideas. UnDo used to scare me too, but now it's definitely one of the best tools in my arsenal. I just recently had a sticker that popped up on a spread and never even thought to use my glue pen. LOL Mine is REALLY sticky even after it dries so if it leaks out from behind the sticker, it creates a big mess with the other page sticking to it. Not ideal! LOL I really need to just trash it and get a different one. I've seen you use the Zig in our videos, thanks for sharing that. Does it have a felt tip?

Hi, re: Frixxion pens. I have been told by a few different people that if you lose writing due to pages being in a hot car or whatever, you can restore the writing from the frixxion pens by putting the page or whole planner into the freezer. The cold reactivates the ink. It isn’t lost forever.

I use Frixion pens all the time, they're not as dark as you said but I've never had an issue with fading. In the beginning I was a little worried about that. But as my planner is always on a desk where ever I am...never had the issue.

Do you have any other substitutes for Un Do? Contains a chemical that is banned in California, so I can’t fine locally or have it shipped.

There is a CA compliant version of Un-du! I’m in CA and was able to purchase a 32oz bottle on Amazon. You search for Un-du like you normally would, then find the one that says it’s CA compliant. I think it only comes in the larger quantities, hence the 32oz bottle, but I don’t think it was super expensive. Hope that helps!

I used the Frixion pens when I first started planning because I was so scared of messing up. I have the whole line of them, I think. Pens, Markers and Highlighters. You're right, then don't write as dark as say, a TUL or Pentel. I know about the fading if exposed to heat but my planner lives on my desk all the time so I wasn't worried about it. A year later, after my confidence grew and I got to the point where my handwriting improved, now I swear by my TUL's, Tombows and Papermate Flairs. If I mess up, no big deal. I write "oops" a lot and just go on with my week. :) I really really need to get some Un-Du though. I can do that now since Joe canceled on me, the jerk! 🤣

When I used to use fountain pens on my planner pages I would “erase” mistakes by cutting out a small piece of paper from a sheet of paper that’s the same paper as my planner pages, and paste it over the mistake.

I used the backing of the sticker sheets instead of label paper for the first couple years of planning before investing in avery label paper. One additional tip i sometimes use because i have issues with my hands and sometimes I just screw up writing is turning it into a different font. Screwed up on the left side add a heavy downstroke, weird loopy thing, make a script font, sometimes you can just make it bolder or blockier. I have hid lots of mistakes in penmanship by just tweeking the style of writing.
