We used treated, but after all the research of articles, studies, tests I could find, - In my opinion I found it safe to use. The scientific community is really split down the middle on this question. So each person has to make that decision on their own.

I can’t grow vegetables in my yard due to deer. The deer eat Everything! My Azaleas, Hydrangeas, Hostas. I mean Everything. Will they eat herbs ?

Deer generally keep away from aromatic herbs, but we can't promise anything. The best way to keep deer out of your vegetables is to put up a fence with chicken wire.
