Plant Music - Aloe Vera

It's quite exciting not knowing what the plant is going to give you through the performance, you learn to pre-empt your every move intuitively.
This performance is one moment in that sphere, a practice in developing synchronicity with your jam mate. 😊
The outcome is often unconventional and beautiful.🌿

Presenting the Aloe Vera plant, which seems to be very reactive to proximity, but took its time to chime in.
"Aloe Vera" is a semi-generative live performance, meaning the plant is generating musical elements using its bioelectricity, and I manually introduce and remove elements throughout.
We are nature, and not separate from it.
This is my way of listening, and honouring that connection. Creation is a form of reciprocity with nature.

The Aloe Vera is hooked up to the Scion which is performing a melodic Pad with nRings while also modulating Pachinko, Beads,Ts-L and Pam.
The Moog DFAM is on Cymbals which is clocked by Pam's workout.
Fusion System 2 is playing bass whose quantized melody is randomly generated
I perform live drum duties via the Digitakt
The Morphagene plays a Piano loop from the Disting Ex s that is introduced by me through this live performance.
Reverbs are from Beads and FX Aid.
This take is a live performance is recorded strait to my Zoom F6.

Hi Estevan! biofeedback sensors pick up changes in bioelectric output from all life. That is expressed as musical data to create music with plants in this instance. YES!
