Plant Profile: Cryptocoryne usteriana

The genus Cryptocoryne, commonly known as Crypt plants, hosts some of the most desirable and easy to keep aquarium plants. Cryptocoryne usteriana is no exception, though it is exceptional among aquatic plants! This taller species has a lot going for it including an attractive texture, gorgeous green color with some reddish tinges, and the ability to flower underwater.

Nice to see a spotlight focus on plant species. My variety of C.U. has red underneath the leaves, which adds another depth of character to this plant. Since it looks like you have a bible of aquatic plants, it'd be great to see a cover of the two major varieties of "Water Sprite" ... Back in the 70's i had some that grew rich wide fluffy leaves that looked like an aquatic version of Acanthus. Now all i find is a plant species that looks the opposite with having thread like leaves 😥
