Thank you for this video, it is outstanding. This is the first tutorial I've seen that really addresses all aspects of dynamic radial arrays in Revit.

Thanks. It might be the only video that covers how to control all the aspects of radial arrays in Revit.

Hi, thank you for the video ! I don't know if you could help me : I need to place a family of void holes in cercle array in an other family, in order to cut a steel plate. My problem is to control the start angle. When I change the work plane to select the reference line (and be able to control the start angle), the holes don't cut the steel plate anymore. To be able to cut the plate with the nested holes family, I needed to use "Generic Model Face Based" template, so I don't have all the options in the category family ; could it be the reason ? I'm also stuck in R2020 for this family, maybe this is also a problem ? Thank you! Have a nice day!

Hi, I recommend to post the question in the Revit Architecture forum: forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/bd-p/133

What happen if you change the width of the chairs family? What I have noticed is that the family won't grow centred, but it will shift from the radial array start point, messing up the entire array, basically making it impossible to establish a precise start point Correct me if I am wrong, but you cannot lock the faimly of the chair to the array start so that it will always grow from the centre, but if you do not do it the above happens.

You can change the width of the chair family. If the center reference plane in the chair family is set to be the vertical origin, the chair should become wider in both directions, keeping the center at the same position. Remember that the chair is a nested family.

@Planta1Com yes that is true if the family is nested central, but not if the family is connected to the side or to an nonncentred position. This limits a lot of options, tbh. Maybe there is a process to make this specific situation to work. But what drives me crazy is the complicated process of doing simple things...anyway. the tutorial was super helpful and giving up on some features I managed to something similar to what I needed.

Too good and too complicated!

I am glad to see that you liked it (I assume). About being complicated, well, that's what we have. I wish this could be done in fewer steps, but this is what we can do now with the software.
