We are Char and Marv
We are gardeners from Toronto on a mission to inspire others to grow their own food-no matter experience or space available. We completely fell in love with growing a garden not only because we get fresh, homegrown food but we also cultivate a deeper connection to where our food comes. That same joy is then shared with our family, friends and community.
Our gardening journey has allowed us to grow on windowsills, a balcony garden, community gardens, to a thriving backyard garden jungle. When our summer season ends, gardening never stops for us. We found a way to keep on growing indoors, using a garage grow tent, hydroponics, laundry room and even a basement grow room. We just love to experiment and to try new things. We hope to show you that anyone can grow their own food, no matter where you are. Year-round gardening is truly possible, even in Canada or around the world!

Thank you so much, I think we filmed the pepper pruning. I'll see if we can find it and put it all together. But mainly we prune during seedling stage by topping off and then pruning lower leaves as they grow.

Beautiful!!! I planted tomatoes , green peppers and the snails, and other bugs ate them . I have no idea where you are , but here in Ocala there are many bugs 🐛 🐜 🦗 etc

⁠@@masdelgadaHe is in Canada. Depending on your climate try planting at different times of the year. I am in the Southern US and some plants do better if I grow them a bit later so they aren’t in so much of the heat of summer and the height of pest pressure. Transplanting larger healthy plants also can help deter some pests and also be sure you have healthy soil with good compost will help. Charles Dowding has some very good educational gardening videos showing the no dig method of gardening (search KZbin for Charles Dowding and you will find him). Gardening is constantly experimentation and some years are better than others due to things we cannot control. Keep trying and you will be well rewarded. This channel shows how much wonderful food can be grown in a backyard and he has so many good ideas plus he is so peaceful to watch.

How many of each variety did you plant? I’m always trying to figure out how much I need to plant for my family of 4

Favourite ones are 2-3 and newer varieties are only 1-2 each, just to test if we like it too. Depending in how many you want to grow, 1 per variety is usually good enough and just grow more what you like to eat the best ❤
