My flame tree is only 4 months old but the growth is insane. I knew nothing about bonsai plants at all and some say this tree shouldn't be a bonsai due to it's vigorous and stubborn growth. I am going to try what you showed in the video. Semper Fi (was a grunt with 1/1)

Semper Fi brother!!! 7th and 8th COMM here. The flame tree makes the best bonsai in my opinion because of its vigorous growth. You get to work with it atleast 6X/year ass opposed to some pines that I had to wait 5 years to do ANYTHING!!!. If you stay ahead of it and pinch the new tips off frequently the tree will look great. Kill

Hey there I brought some flame tree seeds from Dominican Republic on August and I currently have grown a beautiful flamboyant, today I just replanted and trimmed the main root but left the rest intact to limit its grow to bonsai mode. I have not done its first pruning I’m a little nervous about it so I’m going to wait a little longer until it adapt to the replant stress. Can you guide me please thanks!!!

My two trees, one 4 years old and the other 3 1/2, have just a few leaves at a time. They both have such a thin trunk 😢 I am afraid of pruning and loosing them.

When was the last repot? Maybe time for fresh soil...then a hard prune to final desired height after they rebound from repotting. 😎🌳✂️
