You're fabulous, mate. My dad tried tobacco seeds a couple of years ago, and I think he kept them in dark and humidity for too long and they all ended up with damping off. So he was really disheartened and didn't want to try them again. So I bought some seeds this year to get them started for him, and they're doing great mainly because of your vids. Now they're started, he's getting pretty excited and it's a good hobby for him:) Thanks so much!

Hey Larry,,,my second attempt at germinating "your seed,,Big Thanks". First died from a too chilly a night "in the spare bedroom". The light wasn't enough to keep it warm. Now, starting to warm up here "East Texas" and I'm going to start germinating again later today. Won't have them in the chilly spare room but in the hallway "warmer" and in a large box with a light. Thanks for all the help info !

Hi nice to see a fellow tobacco enthusiast and answers appreciated My question is how does the oriental and burley tobacco smell during the curing/drying process (not the fermentation process). I am going to dry them out on the veranda on a clothes hanger. Does the tobacco emit a powerful smell so that it smells that I am smoking all the time or does it smell like weed. I do not wan the neighbors calling the cops because they think I am curing marijuana. Do the plants whilst growing emit a scent. Again I am thinking of the neighbors bothering me and calling the cops.

Great and informative video. Now I'll go back to see the first one about germinating. I'm looking at getting some farm land in a few years, and will be trying tobacco aquaponically in NFT tubes. I figure it will be a great way to grow on the many (otherwise unusable) hillsides I expect from any property I will be able to afford in the foothills of the California mid to upper central valley. I would be spacing them out between rows a bit more, and planting lavender in between the rows to keep out weeds, and shade the pipe tubes to keep them cool. Roots don't like hot water nutrient solution very much. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Mr.Hall are you still sending out seeds? Also dumb question would the plants be okay in a greenhouse during the colder months? Or would it be better to start after winter? I'm in Oklahoma and getting a late start. I'm interested in growing for pipe tobacco and cigars. I have also heard for different types, grow far apart to not cross pollinate, but I'd be growing in 5 gallon buckets hopefully in a greenhouse. Thank you very much for your videos and all your information.

Larry, I harvested my plants a little late and I have almost completely dry brown leaves (only on the bottomest part of the plant stalk) that now look like curled up cinnamon bark growing on the bottom part of the plant. Hi Larry, A guy living in sweden here. Do you have any tips for growing a single plant indoors in an apartment? I'm doing it just for fun but i still want to succeed. I bought a 30l pot, some basic pot-mix and i just bought a grow light. The plan is to grow them during the winter in a warm corner of the apartment. I also read that tobacco is related to tomatoes so i was planning to use tomato fertilizer, heard it works great. I was planning on using this since ash or manure isn't really a great idea in an apartment. Any tips? ideas? pointers?
