Love your new clam shell planter! Your singing is just beautiful. The snake is a common garter snake and will not hurt you. It is always startling to see any kind of snake when you don't expect it. Common garter snakes typically eat earthworms, amphibians, leeches, slugs, snails, insects, and small rodents.

Yikes with the snakes! We have copperheads and water moccasins so I am always on the lookout. The hens and chicks look great in the clam shell and the pot you made. Your sister is so nice to share her plants. I know you help her when she needs an extra hand. Take care!

I hate snakes too. When I first moved to the country, my Mother told me never just reach down and pick something up. Use a hoe or rake because a snake might be under there and she was right. We have copperheads where we live so every time I go out to the pond I pray for protection from anything that might harm me. Love watching your videos.

Sometimes ya just need a good visit, throwing plants at ya is nice too. It looks like a shell of sea urchins and sea weed, really nice. Really sorry about the snakes, fill up those cracks, and I bet it was warm under that pot. Honestly, this old girl would have screamed and took off.

Some drainage holes might of been a good idea. That can be a tough material to drill through without cracking or breaking out though.

I think the snakes are trying to stay warm. The stones and cement heat up during the day and I think because it’s cooling off they are moving in to warmer territory.. 🌺💚🙃

I like the clam shell planter. I bring my hens and chick into the unheated garage for the winter. I water maybe once a month. They have done really well since I started doing that. I was impressed with how you handled the snakes. I would have went inside and been done for the day. Ewwww they are so creepy! Shudder shudder!!

The small one I made has one :) and the white clam one doesn't but the water drains really good out of the dips in the shell so I think it will be fine :)

The planter I made has one! But the clam shell does not. However everytime I water it the water drains out the dips in the shell so I think it might be okay, we will see :)
