One of my trees died so I'm planting succulents and Thyme in the hollowed-out center of the tree. I'll update you next month on its' progress.

Love it! I've planted many stumps over the years, I just love the nature vibe of them. I recently did another one with hostas and a few annuals but, mine have all been short stumps, love the tall one.

Thank you!! I know it's not for everyone but I love it. We just turned our old will stump into a base for bird houses. We'll have a video of that soon!

Kei Studio Yes! They are doing awesome. All of them overwintered along with the lemon thyme. I will have to do an update video to show you. It has been a really fun project, good luck with your tree 🌲

Love this idea! I have planted in stumps before but have an old apple tree with a hole in trunk - wonder if I can do this? Just found your channel and binge watching your garden videos! You have a beautiful yard!

Thank you! I think it would work for your apple tree too. My plants are still doing great and have seeded all around the base of the tree.
