Sometimes not everything works as planned. Sometimes you fall into something. The Rye might have died out from too much shade but it did an excellent job suppressing early season weeds.

Cody, Another great video. Really appreciate the comments about encouraging farmers to try new things. We are all learning together and sharing those experiences accelerates all our learning. The value the rye brought to this field is outstanding despite not working as planned.

Soybeans with silage corn to increase protein is a good idea. Would be interesting to see a feed sample comparison.

I’m in eastern Canada, I’m thinking a winter wheat for a fall cover crop might work here , something hardy that won’t winter kill much

Have you guys worked with organic corn growers? Wondering if broadcasting into 60" corn rows planted into rolled/crimped rye would work or would no till drill be the only way? Goal is to winter graze beef cows in central NY

That’s a good piece of information on cover or mixed or co-cropping. Is it possible to grow potatoes between the rows of corn ? And, is it also possible to grow corn on raised beds ?

@5er5933 жыл бұрын
@@w8stral The rows of corn were at 140cm and there was too much pressure from the weeds also we had an extremely wet year.
