A lovely tree. I have two - one is a steel blue color- beautiful. Please be aware that deer can be a problem. I have never had them eat it, but the males will destroy them in the late summer- fall as they rub their antlers. I have had this happen 3 times, now I cage the trees August-October and also spray repellent

I am growing some in Maryland planted in the ground in 2006, 17 feet tall now. so they don't grow as fast on the east coast as advertised in all the literature on the internet says 3 feet a year or more. I hope you plant it in a good place outside away from and building or overhead electrical wires and near a freshwater source such as a small stream

When our daughter visited CA redwood forest- she got this for me. It is available online from Amazon $10 ( Called giant sequoia)

i want to learn how to plant and take care of trees because when i have kids i want to plant a coast redwood tree for each of my children i know it might be stupid but it seems like a good idea to me

Hope you are living in a warmer climate. So you do not have to bring it indoors, first few years during winter ( before planting it in ground)

@@JerseyGardening2020 i don't but i plan on moving to a warmer climate because of many reasons

These are the talleat trees... most of them were cut down. Before they were cut down they were the tallest. Currently the worlds tallest is a Sequioa Semperinvienes and Sequioainadae gigantum is largest by volume.

Where’s the soil around the roots!? I’m sure the roots not happy without it. Also, try to avoid touch the roots with your bare fingers.. the oils from your skin not good for them.
