PLANTING ZUCHINNI SLIPS

Planting some More Zuchinni Slips,
The process of Planting Zuchinni Slips is a 3 person job. One drives the tractor and two plant the slips Slips are plants that have already grown from a seed to a plant. Before the slips are planted the field is prepared with black mulch plastic rows. Each row has a black hose also known as a drip line which is laid down under the mulch. The black hose provides water to the plants as it has small holes in it similar to a soaker hose. When the hose is pressurized with water it will then irrigate the plant. The black mulch keeps the soil and plants hydrated which helps the plant establish its roots to become a healthy plant.
The tractor moves at a very slow speed as the planting process takes place. The white tanks on the tractor is filled with water, which is than released when a pocket is made for the plant. Pockets are made with a Transplanter. The wheel that turns has pocket hole makers. As they go over the plastic mulch they punch holes into the plastic that are big enough for the slips to be planted. There are 2 people that sit on seats that are low to the ground to plant the slips into the ground.
