No! I got this to play with my 7 year old and encountered the same problem and was fucking pissed! So I paused game went to settings and changed the server to private and then it let me log in with a guest account on the second controller! Now of course 85 percent of features cannot be done with a guest account however there's a endless mode and a weird mission based/ exploration mode you can do with a guest account! Now of course you do have to have 1 account with ps plus or xbox live. If you don't have internet and try to play the game on 1 player it literally will not let you past the main menu its absolutely fucking sickening!!!

I tried multiplayer online in split screen mode, but the other user needs to have a PSN PLUS account too, so we could only play modes that are not online. But it is possible

A second persona just needs to log in with an account to the con solé and then presos square to join. After that if its the first time that user Will need to create a free EA account and that's it. Hope it helps.
