I think full EX mode playthrough is only doable if somehow those 10 slots of plants have a hotkey to easy place them instead of drag and drop, otherwise you'll lose sanity ..

Theres actually one best counter to those new gargantuars: marigold If you place a marigold, it will spawn a newspaper sunday edition zombie but with already in rage mode. Which means if it charges into that gargantuar, that gargantuar will be destroyed in seconds. Combine with that pumpkin, you can place marigold and defend the 3 rows
