Plants vs. Zombies Survival Endless Flags 1124 -- 1127

Michael Jackson Zombie appears in the first half of the video. I much prefer him and his backup dancers over Disco Zombie, who replaced him. I know that PopCap switched out of respect after MJ's passing, which is honorable, but he was a zombie in his Thriller video, so I don't feel that it's insulting to continue having him on my game and actually see it as more of an homage.
The layout of plants that I use is well balanced, so I don't rely too heavily on Cannons or Glooms, which makes it easier to recover from any accidents and doesn't force my gameplay to be lopsided.
Most players looking to go the long haul in SE generally just use Winter Melons, not the Gatling Pea/Torchwood combo, but the power of flaming peas actually does work pretty well in the more vulnerable outer lanes. The splash of Winter Melons in the poolside lanes is enough to keep most Zombies in all lanes "snared" with their chilling effect, except for Zombies being thawed by direct hits from flaming peas.
I use Blover and not Cattails to take out Balloon Zombies, because it works better with my offense for various reasons, so I have to be very careful not to lose sight of those silent killers. That can be tedious and risky, especially while recovering from an accident, but using Blover becomes easy after awhile. I did let one Balloon slip by before I even got to flag 100 -- never again!
A Jack explosion in a poolside lane that reaches the Glooms is the biggest threat in this game when paired with Dolphins, Gigas and/or Zombonies, but as long as the backup plants needed to replace pool Glooms are picked in the rounds when Jack is present, this setup can withstand Jack explosions without becoming overwhelmed or depleted of sun.

Crazy, I run almost this exact same set up. I always die from several levels in a row with jack and zambonies in them. The Jacks blow up the gloom shrooms in the pool over and over and the zambonies finally overrun me once the jacks have removed the four most forward of the pool gloom shrooms. If I have to replace more than 4 of those gloom shrooms every round it doesn't take long before I can't keep up. I still haven't figured out what causes the Jacks to instant detonate sometimes. I have had rounds where they knock out the forward pool shrooms faster than I can replace them and other rounds where not one goes off next to the pool.

I put the Fume Shrooms in lanes 3 & 6 specifically to to try and detonate Jack in the Box Zombies before they reach my Gloom Shooms. Fume Shrooms don't have high DPS, but they pierce through all enemies in lanes 3 & 6 to get the Jacks in the back to detonate them ASAP. Doesn't work every time, but enough to help. I always found Zombonies to be the most troublesome BTW.

Why didn't you plant cat tails to get rid of the balloon zombies? Wouldn't it be troublesome to use blovers all the time?

Yes, it can be troublesome, but I did it for a few good reasons. Since every square of space needs to be optimized, in rounds when there are no Balloon Zombies, I get a lot more firepower from other plants than Cattails. Also, in later rounds, when numerous Balloon Zombies get popped and land in the middle of my garden, my offense gets clogged up and wasted on grounded Balloon Zombies instead of taking out more powerful foes on the front line (have enough trouble with Imps doing that), whereas Blover gets rid of Balloons without a trace. Finally, Blover serves another function, which is slowing down Gargantuars & Gigagargantuars, which have to stop and crush a Blover planted in front of them, but the Blover will always blow the Balloons away before a slow Gargantuar can crush it. In the process of stopping and swinging, the Gargantuars are getting pummeled by my offense.

mobus1603 true and my strat is using a hoal load of gatling peas, torchwood, lots of spikerock, lots of cattails, and the fume shrooms. And also try it in endless mode pls

Wish there was a sandbox mode in this game. Spawn what zombie you want, what plant you want and what background you want (day, night, pool), would be a really cool way to test out strategies (you have infinite sun btw)

I use a laddered cobless strategy, and I have one firepea lane. I use the imitator ice-shroom and 4 delaying plants, sometimes 3 and 2 with recovery. My setup must be laddered cuz it's nearly impossible maintaining all the pumpkins without the imitator one

I've tried playing with just two twin sunflowers, and it simply won't go the long haul no matter how skilled you are. You'll need that sun! I'd recommend getting rid of the Fume Shrooms in rows 2 & 4 and replacing them with Winter Melons, then replacing the rear Winter Melons (in front of the Glooms) with Twin Sunflowers. In later rounds, one Cattail won't be able to keep up with all of the Balloon Zombies, so you should dump the Coin Magnet and use a second Cattail. I'm going to try this myself

I made it to Level 40 and paused the game after the achievement. I put the cattail in the middle instead of the twin-sunflowers. I also decided to put a coin magnet in the other middle slot, but now I have to be extra careful because with so few sun generators, pumpkin repairs add up.

Thanks! Glad you like it. Where did you put the Cattail, if I might ask? I had thought about incorporating them, but when the Balloon Zombies fall into my plants or in front of the other zombies, they clog up my offense, which I don't like. On the other hand, they're the biggest threat to my brains in this game, because it's easy to lose sight of those buggers, especially when when a Jack takes out some of the middle Glooms during a Giga & Dolphin round, and I'm frantically replacing the Glooms.

After 40 flags, it seems that the Coin Magnet doesn't pick up enough coins to be worth its spot. But I really do need Cattails because the screen is a mess at higher levels. Let us know if you find ways to improve your strategy!

The outside lanes (1 & 8) have a little more trouble with Zombonies & Gigas, so you need to rely on instant kill plants like Cherry Bobs, Jalapenos and Squash more since you don't have many cob cannons. Also, some might find it hard to use Blovers in rounds with Balloon Zombies, but for me it's no problem. Finally, any setup that uses Gloom-Shrooms in the beginning of the pool lanes has to be very wary in rounds with Jack-in-the-Box Zombies. I use Fume-Shrooms in lanes 3 & 6 to help lower the incidence of them detonating near my Gloom-Shrooms, but it's still always possible. Rounds that pair Jack-in-the-Box Zombies with Gigas, Zombonies and Dolphin Rider Zombies are crazy dangerous.

There are builds that go over 1,000 flags all over the internet. How is mine a hack? I still have to collect sun like everyone else. I'm missing one of my lawnmowers, so my build obviously isn't impenetrable. This video shows the skill involved with defending against zombies. Explain.
