The white granular pieces added at the end is perlite, it helps or holds air to nourish the seeds/seedlings, it doesn’t hold water well that’s vermiculite, perlite will work well even in cases where you use coir which can inhibit air getting to the roots. X

Figs are usually started from cuttings. You will get figs within a year.

Yes, I took some cuttings from a friend’s plant that I knew was a good producer in my climate at the end of last summer, cut them to 3 or 4 nodes on the current years growth and some on the older wood too, put them in a pot and had about a 30% success rate, which wasn’t bad considering it was about 10 minutes work. Growing from seed is fun however:-)

weird cos i saw another video stating that the fig doesnt have seeds.. that its in fact an inside out flower that gets pollinated by a tiny wasp that goes in a tiny hole... what i want to know is, has the fig evolved to be eaten or not? if its meant to be eaten then surely it should be best put in some kind of stomach acid replicant & faeces? if its not meant to be eaten then how does it get spread & grow naturally? i tired to grow from cuttings but only looked up info after so i think ive done it wrong

Are the figs Common figs? or Smyrna Figs? San Pedro Figs? It looks like some sort of Adriatic fig and a Violette De Bordeaux fig. Did you pollinate the figs? And you do realize there is a 85% chance you will get a male fig from this process a "Caprifig", THEY do not taste very good lol
