It is my first time to have a fiddle leaf fig and was excited to propagate it. I have done water propagation and air layering. In my experience, my air layered fig rooted faster than those with water propagation., In just 3 weeks, you can harvest a new baby fig tree using air layering. While with my water propagation, they are still growing roots.

I use the liquid too, I put mine in a small spray bottle and spray it into the wound. Works pretty well

I would allow the new plant to get established for at least 18 months after propagating to do this air layer

You could. But I think air layering has a broader application amongst other types of plants and practicing on flf is a great place to start and it’s fun to try!
