It would be nice if you would show examples for single people in your videos as well as married. A lot of people in retirement are single due to divorce and death of a spouse.

yeah, I'm ok with paying taxes. taxes fund our society (including our government- previous employer). I don't want to pay more than I need to , but I'm not going to live in poverty to avoid paying taxes. I'd rather enjoy retirement and pay the taxes as oppose to being miserable and just saving it for the grave or if i'm 90 and can't do anything.

I love your videos they are very informative. I still have a million years to retire, but it’s never too early to learn how to maximize retirement benefits.

Retiring soon... and next year, one last big Roth conversion, leaving enough for QCDs down the road (after all, if I end up needing it, I'll have it). After that, I'll not be in the zero, but I also won't have the SS Tax Torpedo.

Any idea when we can move the govt match and have it contribute into our Roth instead of the traditional?

So if I do a little math and limit my TSP withdraws to keep myself within the 12% tax bracket, I can just back-door them into a roth for later?

I plan on doing the traditional roll over to roth once I retire next year. Between FERS, FERS supplement, I hope to be able to roll over about 60K a year. I know I will need to dip into TSP about 10-15K a year until SS kicks in at age 62. Half will be traditional and half will be Roth. Maybe find a dozen or so high yield dividend stocks and supplement my income with Roth Dividends. Fidelity SPAXX is averaging about 4% return. G Fund is about 3.6%. Both of these will change as the interest rates fluctuate.

Nice! Being in a volatile market, just started putting more into the G fund and my outside investments are in a Fidelity Roth IRA portfolio, just started up a SPAXX for the cash only side and looking forward to that risk-free 4.22% (as of today)

@@rjmurray5128 I also started doing 30, 60 day tbills in Fidelity as well as 13 week Tbill. I am keeping cash liquid to be able to pounce on a value stock or 2. As Dallon mentioned, I need to keep about 6+ months of cash on hand to cover me while OPM calculates my future.

I rode out the pandemic storm, sticking with C and S funds, but the yo-yo small gains/losses to claw back to my all-time highs hurt. Now, though, I'm suddenly getting all gains (a fat one five days ago, smaller ones, then a pretty good one...). I'm VERY glad I hung on and am hoping I'm back on track for much bigger gains, since I really want to feel good about retiring🤞

I am 62 years and had been a federal employee for more than 25 years and viserektor still employed. I have less than 500 thousand in my FERS and about half of that in ROTH. My question is, No 1)can i withdraw about 20 thousand from my ROTH at this time and 2) will i pay taxes on that. Thank you.

@@ChrisWilliams5605LS Of course. I'm mainly just making fun of his clickbait bull crap 0% video title. BUT YOU CAN STILL DO IT! Live in somebody's garage, Ride a bicycle everywhere, learn all the free food spots and soup kitchens and churches and food banks... Forget about health insurance... Pay your $125 per month for the left quarter of that garage... Clip coupons... Mint mobile, with last year's phone all the time or earlier... Beg on the streets. Tap into the underground cash economy Steal... And then you can probably make it on a little over a thousand per month
