Plastering and the best way to fix metal corner beads to any surface.

This is the last day of an extension we did. We fixed new plasterboard the the ceilings and dot and dabbed plasterboard to the walls. We then fully plastered the whole extension.
We waited until the last day to plaster where the existing house and new extension met, including all the “making good” required .
All ready for the painting and decorating to be done.

By the time you've put the glue on I would have nailed the top and side beads on and be skimming it. Just nail them

I’ve dinged and bent too many beads over the years using nails so, for me personally, I prefer mitre glue. I find I can get the beads more precise and fixed that little bit tighter to the wall as well. That said I don’t think there is anything wrong with using nails. It’s just not my preference any more 👍🏼

all aerosols have silicone in them to stop them sticking in the nozzle. thats why you cant get a water based product in a spray can !!! surely your running a risk of paint not bonding to the plaster if it bleeds through and you use a water based paint covering.

I appreciate your advice. I’ve personally never had a problem with the glue. It’s worth noting that I only use a small bead of glue on each side, which holds the beads in place nicely for me to plaster. Once they are plastered it’s really the new plaster that adds significant strength and holds them in place.
