I actually still like this figure to this day. The only issue I had with it is that my particular copy was missing the clip at the base to allow the body to snap in. I super glued it on, so it doesn't have that swivel anymore, but it also doesn't feel like I'm missing anything. Yeah, it has its problems, but this is a character who, on the show, didn't transform unless you count his rotating faces, which they DID include. I made one modification, which was to remove the stem at the top that the gun is meant to plug into. On the show, that was a wire that fed into the ceiling of the room he was in. Chopping it short and putting a 5mm hole there wasn't the best way of dealing with that. I personally prefer this design over the G1 Quintessons. And seriously, a couple of extra paint apps to spruce up the appearance would NOT make this an unrecognizable toy. The silhouette is one of the most unique in the franchise, and what other character has an Allicon body with a mouth full of faces?

Was this marketed as a "transformer"? I'm pretty sure that this never transformed in the cartoon, so you really can't complain that the toy doesn't. But you can complain if it wasn't made apparent that this toy didn't transform.

+CopperFTW This was sold as a $20 Mega-class Energon toy. While it was clear the toy couldn't transform, it was sold under the main Transformers Energon toyline, not a sub line or special release.

The thing I hate the most about this guy is how NOBODY has made this into Botanica yet. The base and attachments are perfect for giving a vine look as is the central display stand body. Even the arms after some additions are perfect too as Botanica also had dual clamp arm things. Just change the main body and color and it's Botanica. Since Botanica's transformation from mobile plant to robotic plant is negligible at best, this toys lack of transformation doesn't matter in the least either.

Weird as he is I actually really enjoy this lad, I found one still new in sealed box for only $35 on ebay a few weeks back and figured Id give him a try. Hes not one id go paying almost $100 for like people list him for 90% of the time, but for what I got him for he holds up really well. I really dig that they actually painted the flesh detail on his body and arms. Hes certainly not the best of the bunch, but hes fun.

The reason this guy scared me so much is because the toy seemed to be made bad on PURPOSE. Its as if some supernatural entity created a flawed picture of the Quin in its head and decided to show the world what IT thought the alien looked like.
