Plastic Foundations are GONE!!!

Thank you for tuning in to todays video. Today, we are removing the plastic foundations from our frames. We are transitioning to wired/foundationless frames and hoping for a much quicker wax draw out from our bees.

I just use pure wax foundations here in Australia, works great and always faster than foundationless in my experience

I have never used pure wax foundations. Only plastic up until now. I would be willing to try out some pure wax foundations.

It's best to use wire or bamboo skewers (18") because the bees chew out the fishing line.😁

I like cutting cells, so I use a strip of wood heavy on the wax, and line. They love it.

Maybe I will melt some wax and add a strip to these frames. I didn’t do that to the others and they have them drawn out nicely.

That's why when using plastic you have to apply wax to them even if they say they came waxed

I agree. On a ton of my frames I did that and still had no luck with a lot of them. Hoping these frames fill out as fast as the others I have done so I can cut some comb honey next season or this fall.

you bought chinese garbage foundation!!!!!!! not real wax on them!!!!! get acorn heavy wax and see hot it supposed to go!!!!!!! fish wire is dumb

I have multiple brands of plastic foundations. Some the bees have worked out perfectly and others they have not. So far, my fishing line frames are being drawn out great and stable. So, not to try is dumb. Thanks for the comment. . Do you only run plastic foundations or have you tried anything else?
