I had a toolbox full of Xcelite tools… Always thought they were some of the best. Had some for over 30 years and never had a problem. When I quit using them daily and left them in the toolbox in a hot garage they got that stinky white crud on the handle. No matter what I tried it was difficult to impossible to get that off of there. Until I saw KZbin presenter use clear ammonia. For less than $2 per 1/2 gallon at Walmart - an overnight soaking 'eats' that stuff off. It's amazing! Clear ammonia does the trick without need for scrubbing or rubbing.

Excellent restoration as usual. As a pass on MD, Harbor Freight sells a bag a various wooden stick cotton sticks. The sizes range from a small Q-tip up to a puff ball about the size of a quarter. Pretty sturdy and I’ve used them in my Dremel as well as my drill. I think I paid 5-6 bucks for a bag.

I’ve switched to Flitz on your recommendation for plastic leaving the Brasso to heavily oxidized metal. Really unfortunate that Stanley cheapened that push drill to the point of unusability; why bother with that grade of product when the previous versions were so much better. There is just no value in cheap goods, no matter if it’s tools or anything else. If you have to keep buying a replacement the “low price” is meaningless. Wonderful video by the way.
