I work in a tire factory machine shop. We have multiple plastic injection machines that make plastic rims. Ours our steel and inter cooled. 2 to 4 cavities. The main issue we get is ejector pin failure and water leaks due to o ring failure causing water to enter the plastic curing process within the mold during curing . Most molds have 20 or more pins depending on cavities.

I've often wondered how the injection process worked. Thanks for explaining it...quickly.

I really enjoyed this....very educational and not so time consuming....the humor was great too! I had no idea there were such sized injection molding machines. Opens up new possibilities for the shop.

Clete88 Here is a link to the company where I bought the machine that is in the video. I don't know if he still works there but ask for Atilio, he is a great guy, very Professional. I don't work for the company and have no interest in it but I always received great service and I think that it is worth mentioning. Marc L'Ecuyer www.abplasticinjectors.com/

Hi Marc, Good demo of that tiny molding machine... I've seen some with molds that weight more than 7 or 8 tons even more, impressive stuff... Politicians in Canada....!!!! There like in a few other places, some that aren't worth the plastic pegs of that little game.... That is a slippery subject! Thanks for sharing, Pierre

Very nice and informative video but I have a question. Why are there no air channels in the mold to let the air escape when the material is pushed inside? Are they only needed above certain volumes?
@bencesarosi77184 жыл бұрын
I suspect that the high pressure would spray molten plastic through the vent all over the place. But then I have no idea how air gets out of the way here.

Well if your a 'Ripe Cantaloupe' I guess that makes me a ???, anyway, what was the first lever you 'pumped' a couple of times prior to the injection? Great work as usual, and thanks, Chazz

What temperature do you heat pbt up to?
@PeckhamHall2 жыл бұрын
250 degrees Celsius melt temperature, you will need to dry the material in a oven or dryer first for 2 hours at 80 degrees Celsius. Ask your supplier for a data sheet to clarify/double check.
