0:57 you can see sadness, shock and gratefulness in his eyes as he turns around. It gave me goosebumps.

The woman in black.. Anna Coleman Watts Ladd (July 15, 1878 - June 3, 1939) was an American sculptor in Manchester, Massachusetts, who devoted her time throughout World War I to soldiers, who were disfigured.

+Nita Collins I read about her and this reconstruction of faces for the soldiers in an ebook I have I downloaded from the archive dot org, can't remember the title though (I must have about 400 titles easy) I love reading about that era, fascinating, and she was so wonderful, what they did was really such a gracious act, helping those men like that. Those prosthetics changed their lives forever :). Some they said were so well done as to be indistinguishable from their actual faces. What a wonderful couple to have done such a thing.
So this is in the states not France it seemed weird when they should a women going into the house it looked like a USA flag hanging there I could be wrong

After such life changing accidents, all you get is little piece of metal to wear and scars for rest of lifetime... not fair at all😢. War is greed of men.

Some of this footage was shot by the US Signal Corps to show the prostheses made for the French “Mutiles” in WWI.🇫🇷🇺🇸🇫🇷

While this is the very pioneering stuff. That helped save countless lives I'm sure from suicide? And a hundred years later. While most facial disfigurement accidents still all look the same. The medical advances we have today. Are sometimes worse than what these brave men got.

@@nurdytyrd3816 I understand. And I think indeed they as a *majority* deserve this. But I think we should be past the point of catching things and just let it go. I was religious before, and when I left regions (and god/s) I had a full-time job in constructing sentences to curse those people. But I felt that they did not only affect me horribly when I was religious but also when I left them too! I felt they are still living with me because I am catching their comments and their videos or any person here or there irl. But I started to let it go and just pressure on myself to ignore so just I live a real new life and really fulfill what I missed. I guess that's a better way. looking back to hear.
