Its a true kit for a modeller to "model"!

First, I'm glad to find someone who loves modeling as much as I do. That being said, I have a couple of constructive tips. If you are using squadron green putty, it helps to apply a layer of tape parallel to the gaps you wish to fill. Use only enough putty to fill the gap. As it begins to set, you can take acetone nail polish remover and use a qtip to remove excess. That will save you a considerable amount of sanding. The tape will preserve a lot of your surface detail and save rescribing.

+Stephen Smith i agree, i have already started using the tape method on a build that you will see here in a few couple months. An 1/48 SR-71. As the saying goes, practice practice practice. Thanks for the tips as they are always appreciated.

Subscriber here from Lake Charles, LA. I'm a 72 year old guy who's ressurecting an old hobby of mine from the sixties. We didn't have airbrushes to my knowledge back then, so we used spray cans and of course brushes. I have one of these exact Revell Corsair kits in the box and ready to assemble. Thanks for posting these tututorials, as they are a great help. I now have to decide which compressor and airbrush to buy. Any suggestions? My painting will pretty much be limited to model airplanes and later cars. I know there are many of both out there and want to make the right choice for the money, as I don't want to end up with a cheap one and wish I had spent a little more and got a good enough one to begin with. Happy modeling!

I use a badger patriot 105. I get great customer service if it needs repaired. Also got an air compressor from them. But if you join some FB forums, others may tell you differently. The Revell kit is great for practice. It isn't by today's standards a good kit. But it is still a corsair when done.

@@PlasticModelBuilder Thanks for the reply and advice. I've written it down and see if the local Hobby Lobby has them. If not, I'll order them online. 🙂

@daleandrews3552 they will not. The will have Iwata Neo. But plenty of people use them too. I would say instead of adding people what airbrush they have, ask about the features and why they use each feature

Bobby Waldron and Phil Flory both have really good videos on filling and sanding. Do a search. Remember, a good build starts with good construction. Keep modelling.
