It's a bit infuriating watching this, I can't tell you how many times I've gone into salons asking for platinum hair and them telling me that I'm dreaming, that basically my expectations are unrealistic. My hair is dark brown but your client has darker hair than me. This video proves that it can be done. Anybody that says otherwise is just telling me that I'm being unrealistic when they're the ones that weren't trained to be as good as y'all! I hope more stylists see this video so they can stop poo-pooing their customers who desire platinum.

You wouldn’t want to get something like this done with someone who doesn’t feel comfortable doing it. Also keep in mind the cost… in my experience…. Every time someone inquired about the procedure they were not able to afford it.. it’s a whole day of work and a lot of product..

Agreed with all! It is also important to be transparent with a potential stylist as well, and disclose all that has been done to the hair so that a stylist knows what they are walking into and can quote a price.

I love when experience kicks in and saves the day. We put in work not thinking that much is changing. Months...years pass by and you're faced with something you think you can't do and as you're doing it making skillful decisions kick in and the end result is a huge reward after realizing.... Ive done a self color correction from red hair and it took a toll on my hair. I’ve done “open air” application of lightener(Blondme) with 20vol and no foils at home and I’ve reached level 10/11 lightness. Granted my hair is a level 6/7 so it lightens pretty quick. I do it that way to let my hair rest and grow. I’ve done the every 4-5 weeks and it destroyed my hair. If I feel that it’s not light enough I reapply and saturate the area off of the roots again so that it can continue to lighten. Once I see the desired level of lightness I rinse and tone with shades eq.

hello where is your salon located and can you tell me how to keep this hair so alive as I have been blonde for 10 years and at first I had long blonde thick hair and for a few years my hair has been the same length and it has become very rarely drips an awful lot and is currently just below shoulder length. I am asking for your advice and if anyone has had this problem please share as I am trying some hair oils but apparently I am not doing something right... Admirations for the hairdressers, very good work, perfect color and the hair is alive, I would really like mine to recover like this.. I like it so much that I already have areas at the roots where there is no hair..

It's not the other stylist's fault since it looks like she was getting her hair pretty white. Sorry, just had to say something. Thanks for sharing your expertise and experience.

This is amazing! I love Kenra products but the toners seem to fade so fast in my experience especially at 1-1 mix. I would almost need to reapply them weekly - every 7 - 10 days to keep the underlying base colour of yellow blonde at bay. When you say a few ribbons of 10SM, I'm not familiar with that terminology, do you mean a few dabs of that toner in the mix or a few ribbons of it painted in her hair at a specific point? Also what's your go-to product for at home client care with something like this? Again, I've always had trouble keeping the yellow out, and every purple shampoo and at home treatment I've tried has been hopeless, oft times making it worse, or turning a copper tinge into it! I love Kenra bleach and toners, they have the BEST colours by far, but I absolutely cannot get them to last! My last was a blende of Beige and Silver Violet in rapid toners. At the start a similar ashy platinum beige tone to this but not so icey, and as mentioned. Every day up until the day 7 or day 10 mark it would rapidly wash out / fade with even the slightest sun or shower exposure, until it was naked yellow blonde again.
@MirellaManelli2 жыл бұрын
That’s great feedback. I personally have used many different brand of toners and I feel like they all fade quickly. Something like white will need to be maintained every time she washes her hair. I think the lighter the hair is, the more maintenance it requires.
@dons19322 жыл бұрын
@@MirellaManelli It's so frustrating because at the end of the day, every time you go back in there with a 9 volume or just a colour correcting wash even, you're exposing more harshness to the hair. Especially when you do it so consistently to maintain the lightness.
@Ravennatorr072 жыл бұрын

Idk why I get so excited watching this like I’m the one doing it 😂😂 did you use the same volume through out the entire head in each section? Also did you use a different volume when you went in and spot corrected in those level 8 areas?

It was pretty impressive to see the amount of lift we got in one sessions. We 20vol throughout and then I believe we used 10 for the spot correcting. Keep in mind this took ALL DAY. It was a long delicate dance with lots of reapplying.

WOW... I did my own color correction from a med warm brown. It took me several days. I let my hair rest inbetween... I used products from Sally's. After 2 bouts of color remover, bleached twice, then a light ash blond toner. I did it. But I don't have the ice white I went for. I'm kindof bummed... I do though still have my hair. I am using purple shampoo and conditioner. Have put on a pak of shimmer lights. But I have a yellowing already on the top to mid area. Is it that some hair just can't get that light? I'm natural white silver. I want light grey streaks, with some thin lavendar streaks. It's short and I'm growing a pixie out. I had no idea what I took on to be honest. You ladies really are good!!

This girl letting her hair grow out like this gave me anxiety!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF???? DUDETTE NO!!!!! But ya'll did a great job. It takes such control and product knowledge to achieve this in one seche. And I'm team everyone working together! I love it when stylists got each others backs. But here, this growout is why I charge my typical $40hr plus product (normally around $50-75 for just a bleach retouch 65-90 with toner) to keep my clients sustainably returning on time and not having to worry their butts off about their pocket books. I'd rather my clients being on a schedule and knowing the result we're gonna get than have to fix this and me having to worry about damaging someone's hair. I NEVER just LET my all over blondes go more than 5-7 weeks(3/4 inch max). I'll call them for their own good. And yes, I'm a certified(redken,tigi, and wella) color correctionist.... BUT.... that doesn't mean I enjoy them. I like the pay, but I know that charging $80hr(or more, *more likely $120hr) plus product isn't sustainable. This is such a GREAT example of stylist to client education. If I'm not teaching my clients what to expect in the long run then they just won't know any better. My old salon priced my color corrections starting at $110hr...now multiply that by five or six hours not including products used, and yep, that's why it gets stupid expensive. But hey, we got the knowledge and we know how to use it! P.s., thanks for putting out a video that actually really required superior skills. Many KZbinrs I've watched just do the basic foils or balayages. This was refreshing, even if anxiety causing lol.

If it took 2 people just under an hour to do the entire head you would have to be a super fast highlighter to get it done in an hour and a half by yourself! That happened to me as a new stylist and it really affected me.That being said it looks great!

I enjoyed this video and your tenacity. Question, If your putting every section in a foil, why are you leaving the roots out? Seems like an extra step to lighten them and then a double process for everything else that you have lifted. Technically, if the hair is in the foil, your incubation should be controlled and if there is any hair that didn't make it in the foil you could just tap it while the foils are processing. no?
@MirellaManelli2 жыл бұрын
It did not lift as light as the mid zone but it got quite close. That's why we did a second application in the video. We tapped the roots when it looked close to done on the mids.
