Good that you and your guest are addressing the polycrisis BUT you are 60 years too late. The polycrisis has gone full circle and now we are back to Johnson's acceleration of the Vietnam War. However, this time we have over twice the global population and oil is neither cheap nor plentiful. Recession, depression and collapse is inevitable. Prepare for it. There are a lot of things one can do. Get to it. BTW, just making money on the energy pseudo-transition just increases the problems.

If this plan comes to fruition, it will cost more than the average wage. Vehicles are $50,000 now! In the future with dollar de-valuation as a constant from the Fed, only a few would afford these new vehicles anyways.

PGMs are DOA. Lithium batteries for EVS are already at the critical price point of $100 per kilogram to outcompete ICEVs. This guest is just selling pipe dreams trying to pump PGMs. Solid state batteries are very close and lithium metal batteries will completely get rid of any need for fossil fuel engines. PHEVs aren't okay transition but people will not want them and are not buying them at high rates compared to EVs. Once fast charging networks are set up like gas stations throughout the country then it's going to be rapid acceleration of EV sales and rapid deceleration of ICE and PHEVs. China is already well over 50% EV sales and the rest of the world is going to be getting those cheap EVS as well further displacing millions more of ICE vehicles annually.
