Vol'jin and Cairne didn't do their Go'el-given job of helping Garrosh be a good warchief, and instead, jump to nearly leaving the faction and actually getting killed respectively.

When I first played the worgen area, there was a severe graphical bug that made everything hurt my eyes with contrast and sound like it all happened under pouring rain with thick fog. I didn't realize it was a bug and loved how much more depressing/atmospheric it made the entire thing I couldn't look at it with as much favor any later playthrough. I wish I could reproduce the bug

@@SurfingSwallow Since you mentioned Sassy, I would have dropped the whole "goblin player character is next in line to be trade prince" bit and made that whole story about Sassy vs Gallywix. Treat the player character more like a regular goblin that gets caught in the middle of a faction war (heh) and comes out a hero at the end of it. Depending on how you characterize Sassy after that, you might get someone who seems easygoing but still gets results. Not to mention you can then write her to sort of connect with Sylvannas as they would be only two female leaders within the Horde at that point in time.

I think the main thing with the second half of the goblin starting area is that "clearly more important things are going on, but the goblins don't give a damn." Pygmies gaining intelligence through kajamite, Thrall wanting to team up against the cataclysm, but trying to survive an alliance assault first, killing the living god on the islands, causing this lush tropical "paradise" to explode and burn (which is peak goblin). They don't care, and thus, your goblin character also doesn't care.

The most important and interesting goblin to me, is Marin Noggenfogger, Champion of the Uncrowned and Ruler of Gadgetzan nowadays. He is one of the smartest goblins without shenanigans and managed to survive every expansion since vanilla, improving his backstory to the better. 💪🏻

The story of the goblins kind of remind of the Italian mafia. They have huge businesses and are always strategizing for new business ideas but they also love and crave power. But what about the goblins that appear in Warcraft 2 and 3, and the books? In WC2 and between 3 they serve Deathwing. One even gets told by Deathwing to lure Rhonin into Grim Batol (if I remember correctly) to die trying to rescure Alextraza, but then gets backstabbed by Deathwing and gets his zeppelin exploded. That's totally something that makes goblins much more interesting imo.

Deathwing's servants were Goblins only during conception phase, after the game released, they were changed to Trolls which then were retconed to the Drogbar in Legion.
