West Point graduate Lieutenant Jeff Knight faces skepticism and hostility when he takes command of a seasoned platoon led by the hardened Sergeant Michael McNamara in a Vietnamese trench camp. Unlike his predecessor who avoided action, Jeff dives into his duties, quickly realizing that the manual is insufficient for the brutal realities of war. After being wounded, he returns to the platoon with newfound respect from his men and superiors. Amidst the constant threat of the Vietcong, the platoon also grapples with the enigmatic villagers they are tasked to protect but also fear, as some secretly collaborate with the enemy, making every encounter a potential deadly conflict.

Honestly it was garbage, VC can't shoot for shit from 20-30 meters, they are wearing cone hats which almost never done as it breaks the camouflage, US troops suffered what, 3 killed for the whole movie? IRL this unit would have been wiped out during that night assault , really poor Vietnam war movie.

@@dobridjordje I whole heartedly agree with you but considering this is an American production with the usual BS they have to include for some reason, I've seen worse. PS and I was a grunt there in 68 so I know what you mean.

@@williampoppell5189 I recommend you sir to watch "The scent of burning grass" it's a war movie from the NVA perspective about the 1972 Battle of Quang Tri, probably one of the best movies I have watched.
