Hello, thank you so much for the tutorial. I have a question, how did you assign pile material? 11:14 in the video
@geotechniq
@geotechniq Жыл бұрын
You can check at 6:10 in the video, the concrete pile is modeled as linear elastic with concrete properties.
@geotechniq
@geotechniq Жыл бұрын
And to assign the pile material you just drag and drop same as when you assign the soil layer.

Hello, in the video, you applied a line load at the pile top and used axisymmetric models to simulate a pile load test. I have a concern regarding the values of the line loads you calculated. Following PLAXIS manuals, the force should be represented by force per unit radian. However, you calculated force per unit width. Is it correct?

This video is to simulate the static load test, from the test results we can evaluate the pile bearing capacity generally according to the Code. But I think we can calculate the pile shaft resistance and pile tip resistance also, let try to find it.

Hi friend. In this case, we can not use point directly. because the pile is modeled same as soil layer with properties of concrete, it is not a plate. Then point load can't be applied for this case.

If I create this in 3D plaxis , do I need to create the half geometry only to get the same load settlement results?
@geotechniq

actually, I didn't try plasix 3D, But I guess you don't need to model 1/2 the geometry while using Plaxis 3D.

It is simple, Stress = Load / Area. Now, you can calculate the pile area using pi*radius squares. So just divide load with area you will get intensity. This values are round up.

maybe 10% of pile diameter or 10mm, 20mm, depends on the code in your country.
