This play shows how far we have come but what we have also lost. Nowadays, knackered and overstretched women would give anything to be able to stay at home, rather than having to work until 70 and still manage everything. Not so much the have it all, as the do it all generation.

It never fails to amaze me how women that go to work are also expected to do the cooking, cleaning etc. for the family. When I worked no one lifted a finger to help with any of the household chores. The majority of men go to work & come home to clean clothes, dinner on the table etc. I’d like to see them go to work & run an entire household on top of it. I know some men help out & the kids but in my experience it’s very rare.

Is the reason why most, not all women should stay home, keep house, raise their kids and care for their husbands. Feminisms lies have destroyed families, put women in danger and created women who suffer more from mental illness today and a soon to be over 50 spinster lonely generation. What a shame

A watchable drama but the story dragged a little half way through, to say this was 'brilliant' or 'excellent' is far too complimentary. Jesse Birdsall played "David" in this Play for Today. I remember him as "Macus Tandy" in the ill-fated BBC drama Eldorado in 1992-1993 which filled the schedule gap when Wogan finished.
