This was a featured game at Chuck E. Cheese's. I wished they included chuck e. as a racer only in the Chuck E. Cheese ports of H20overdrive.

I remember I was 10 yrs old when I first played this game and IMMEDIATELY became obsessed with it to the point where it was the ONLY game I’d play when my mom took my siblings n I to Chuck E. Cheese. I loved it so much that I would spend the ENTIRE visit playing it. I’d start working little neighborhood jobs simply to save money so I can buy my own tokens and spend hours on this game. Never cared for the tickets, or prizes I just wanted to have a blast with my saved maxed level boats trying to beat my record over n over again. I’m 23 now n holy cow seeing that there is an emulator I’m about to reinvigorate my inner child when I have days off haha. God I wish I was a kid again

the secret in the Thunder games is to find the hidden shortcuts.I never played this great game but at 4:18 for example the red turbo seems to be a shortcut, at minute 6:27 seems to be a shortcut either left or right side between the blue pillars or columns.At 7:58 seems to be an entrance where the blue arrows are like a beach shore at 8:01 to the left where the Red Arrow there is a secret path .,8:33 right where the blue arrow is secret path.

Yeah you need to utilize the shortcuts and jump mechanic in order to have a chance at the top positions. I didn’t know about the jump as a kid so it took so many tries to get first on tracks like Venice canals and New york disaster. Don’t even get me started on Nile adventure…

(("The game was developed by Specular Interactive which consisted of former Midway San Diego employees,[8] along with Hydro Thunder creator Steve Ranck.[9] It was unveiled by Raw Thrills at the Amusement Trades Exhibition International in January 2009.[10] The game is considered a spiritual successor to Hydro Thunder, and was originally named Hydro Thunder 2 before being renamed to its current name;[1][11] Midway had been intending on creating a sequel to the game, but the plan would later be scrapped - Midway would also declare bankruptcy the same year H2Overdrive released.")) Haha 4:30 brings back a memory playing the og version I was in 1st and somebody passed me and I flipped off the "imaginary" person next to me not realizing there was a kid there (maybe 11yrs old) we both laughed it off and walked away. never saw him again. That really used to piss me off that you think your good about to be first but then a npc just passes you.

awesome series as hydro thunder, or others like extreme g, rush saga, or the true wipeout, was games focused in FUN, quality and mainly gameplay. unfortunatelly games like this stand no chance against a generation that is behind games that only has drugs, crime and bad quality songs... when i see a game like this with the old vibes i notice it, this game can be from 2009, but looks like a 2003 game in many ways. well, i loved games like nfs i admit, mainly udg to ps, but also i see how that saga truly ruined the racing game spirit

I've played this arcade machine,it was really fun,i got this working on my computer but,it runs slow,so i assume my computer isn't strong enough,it's really a bummer

@@ArcadeManiac Awesome specs,mine is no where near that,i haven't tried "windowed" mode yet,not sure if that will do anything to speed it up or not,sometimes it helps,if not,i got Hydro Thunder,it's as good as this except graphic wise but,could be worse

Run it in a lower resolution, try 1366×768, and run as administrator and disable full screen optimizations and override dpi settings in the application's properties. That's how I got Mario Kart DX to run full speed. Not sure if it will work for this game though, but I'm sure mario kart is more graphically demanding.

@@Clos93 Though i am 10 months late,i did try in windowed mode,and still runs slow,but,haven't tried everything else you mentioned,Hydro thunder Hurricane runs full speed on high settings,it doesn't seem to be too far off from this game,i can also run Tomb raider Underworld on at least medium if not high settings,it's a year under this,i consider it more graphical than this

@@Clos93 Still didn't see any improvement,i guess it's my graphics that i have,since it runs on an emulator,one will probably need a laptop/desktop computer from 2017 and newer,if it's older than that,then it's a lost cause,unless it's a gaming computer then that will be fine,that is just my wild guess,i don't see any other reason for it be running slow

You need to use the numpad it normally auto recognizes it so you don't have to map the keypad
