My art class in school is band, but I play violin with flute music, and as someone who never learned anything more that the normal position (I think it’s called first position) all the flute music sucks, cause half of it is above that, so I’ve had to learn how to read all those notes, and but them on the a string.

There was actually a girl, several years older, in my school district that was born with her left had being deformed. She actually played the violin by switching sides. Everything on the violin was switched for her since her right was perfectly fine. Not sure of the name of the deformity but I remember her left hand had two big fingers and her thumb. So she could still hold the violin bow just fine. Was interesting when she came to play for us in elementary school.

Hey guys ! I actually have a left-handed violin, it does exist ! I'm left handed, and I didn't feel well with my bow on my right hand, so I swapped everything... Now I play the violin since 12 years like this, I found a left-handed violin and I just wish left-handed people stop being forced to play like right-handed and know that they have choice ! 😉

@UnKnown-es9qm

@@ave_rie a lot of teachers don’t know how to play the left handed violin. Also, I’m assuming that if you want to get a good violin, you would have to spend a lot more money for it (it would have to be custom made).
@ave_rie
@ave_rie 3 жыл бұрын
@@UnKnown-es9qm yeah I actually asked a few luthiers and they were kind of shocked that I’m asking for a left violin. But the price quotes I got from them weren’t that far from the typical prices of a good violin for beginners 😊 I guess if you plan to play with other people (like a quartet or in an orchestra), it’s really best to just get the standard violin.
