One of the great guitar solos. Comes from nowhere in the song and I doubt anyone else played with this kind of intent in the 50s

Absolutely Neil, way ahead of his time in terms of playing guitar within that era. Wouldn't be out of place if listening to someone today..Tremendously self assured and sense of self, whilst others picked out Pentatonics.

@@John-ob7dh Awesome John. I was supposed to go on UK Tour with Jerry Naylor in 2013/14 for his Rockabilly Legends tour. Fell through. I created the front cover for the only book on The Crickets (I designed the book cover) >>> (Pete) www.amazon.com/Crickets-Decades-Rock-Roll-Memories/dp/1530526205

@@thecricketssoundproject Are you using a wound third and do you also use flats cause that's what I use and get a pretty close Buddy Holly tone on the bottom strings I'm just curious about the third string is all howdy from North Carolina

@@thecricketssoundproject thank you sir for the information most other lessons don't tell you what they have and what strings they have again thank you at least I know I've been playing it right I've always used a wound third I have a custom set of 8 Guage flatwound strings made by my friend in Nashville that has a 18 gauge wound third that's what's on my homemade electric guitar in my profile picture

Thank you for your time to record and upload this video. The accuracy is spot on. One humble request, please would you share the chords that you use . I currently use A, D, Em and I also use F barre chord for the Pretty pretty peggy sue part, I love the engine and management system description for the playing style that is a cool way to have put it - Thanks a million + plus I am a new subscriber... If only you could be my guitar teacher :-)

What are your normal amp settings you use for buddy’s tone? Any effects?

Normal clean channel/tone. No FX, merely the tone control on the Strat

Quite tidy, but quite a while to go to perfect, but interesting to watch and listen to, good luck.
@thecricketssoundproject Жыл бұрын
To be perfect ?? its simple. downstrokes, Tone turned up to dull the Strat down, that's how it's played, its not a competition lol Buddy played it differently each time too on the alt version and studio release version. Ive played it since 1985 lol
