I really don't understand the appeal of games like this much less why anyone would pay for them. The most fun you could possibly have with it is with someone watching you play, and even then it's just self-flagellation for their entertainment. It's the digital equivalent of whacking yourself in the balls repeatedly with a boot for your drunken mates at a party. So glad they are going back to this. After watching the speedrun I can't believe how far they were from the end! No shade whatsoever, I have never played and it looks really hard, just will be interesting to see if they make more or less progress this time. I am sure they will set themselves a goal to get further. Also, pay close attention to Gavin's facial expressions during this gameplay- they do not disappoint

As Bennett Foddy says in the games description "I created this game for a certain kind of person. To hurt them." The game is very much designed to punish certain types of gamers. To teach deliberate movement for those who flail around when frustrated, to teach speed for those who take things cautiously, and of course the two ways he uses narration, to interrupt your concentration with his thoughts about various things and to throw your failures in your face when you fall to the bottom, to really set in the pain and frustration. It's a beautiful tool of inflicting suffering.

Frost Hall according to steam reviews it has mouse acceleration so Michael's slow movements were best compared to Gavin's quick style since he would lose all control
