This is one the coolest things I've seen in so long. Such a beautiful and timeless song and very epic to see on the play.

Nice vid 🎉. I am so happy to see videos on the play+, 😊 there’s a shadow over the play+ based on the hype around the TI KOII. Good to see good content on this marvelous gear.
@ToastedGhost9 ай бұрын
Yes I understand the shadow… people paid full price for machine that now has in built machines… but that then reduced the orignal price to £450 the price originaly £800 to upgrade £400 ouch, though the new synths sound wicked

Play OS - even after several updates - has a deal breaker issue and CONFIRMED that it exists in the Play+ as well. When you grow the project to a bigger size the save and load time is impacted. So much that if you make a project with several rows of patterns the load and save time can be more than 45 minutes. This is a horrible bug that is easy to reproduce and any original owners of the Play can easily confirm it (and have.) Polyend confirmed the issue weeks ago in backstage and has still not solved the issue. 1. Make a few audio tracks and a couple midi tracks - nothing elaborate - save to a pattern. 2. Copy/duplicate the pattern to the next pad in the row. (To copy a pattern, press and hold the source pad and select the destination pad slot by shortly pressing it.) 3. Repeat #2 til you have 32+ patterns duplicated. As you continue to duplicate patterns each successive copy takes longer, eventually taking 45+ seconds and even longer as you continue copying. 4. When you have about three rows of patterns (48 pads) you should attempt to save the project. The save will take a very long time, likely as much as 45 minutes, so get out a timer and start it after you begin the save.

I thought the bug was also related to using variations quite a bit, and isn't so bad without them?
@Farold_Haltermeyer8 ай бұрын
Have I got a different chipset? Haven’t had this problem and I’m creating some pretty hectic stuff. Maybe there was a hardware change?
@radfaraf8 ай бұрын
@@Farold_Haltermeyer it only happens if you use a bunch of variations and not normal patterns and it still happens on the play+.
@Farold_Haltermeyer8 ай бұрын
@@radfaraf I’m variation heavy...but I switched out my sad card for a faster one and that seemed to stop any freezes and save hangs with larger projects...BUT I use it as a drum synth essentially so maybe I’m not a typical user
@radfaraf8 ай бұрын
@@Farold_Haltermeyer I got a faster card too and it doesn't make a noticeable difference. After I got my play+ I did a quick test of just a simple drum beat maybe 4 sounds max, maybe about 3 variations. Then paste the same pattern thing over and over again in the track view or whatever it is called. By the time I get to 2-3 rows worth both the copy pasting and saving are extremely slow as compared to just a few patterns, and if I go quite a bit past 3 rows starts to get into unusable territory from how slow it is. So other guy found that bug, and a bunch of us who all tried it also ran into the same results both on the original play and the play+. Play+ should have the fastest hardware, but it doesn't seem to make the issue go away, seems more like a bug.

Sorry, yeah I actually didn’t know how different it is from the tracker when I asked lol my bad! I thought they may open in some form. I’d love if you did another tracker vid in the future but all your content is amazing and love what you drop on the Patreon, I really appreciate all the patches and samples etc. I use them a lot! I’m hoping to get back into using the tracker and was wondering if maybe you have some more projects you might drop on the Patreon? I learned a lot following your tutorials and your vids are the reason I got one to begin with! Happy new year bro and hope it’s a great one for you 🥳

Personally, the exhaustive process of patch editing renders the synthesiser inaccessible and irrelevant for me. In comparison to the workflow of the original Play, which can render a beat very quickly, depending on one's speed accessing the sample storage, this looks very clunky.
@harveytherobot7 ай бұрын
If they can add an update to allow external controllers to change parameters through midi then I think it would help a lot. Or a software editor. Either would be an improvement.

"As you can hear, ----- patch is a generic low passed oscillator sound that you can get by twisting the LP pot by yourself in about 1/5th of a second" . . apparently it's too much work for you to come up with original sounds, too. Enjoy your free Play.
