Accuracy penalty from what I remember is the new mechanic in PoE2 where your chance to hit decreases with distance. The further you are from an enemy, the more accuracy penalty is imposed.

I don't know how good its going to be yet, but I feel like going ranger and picking up crossbow as a secondary to swap to would be cool especially with extra movespeed and projectiles with the ascendency. You could also make a killer grenade spam build with this.

Accuracy penalty is a way to lower offscreen potential. Projectiles now drop as they travel. With more accuracy you can shoot further. This node allows you to only need the minimum required accuracy at all ranges.

It was 50/50 witch / mercenary, but now it's more 50 merc 30 witch 20 ranger, I think some of the survivability and extra projectile stuff from the ranger could be fun on the crossbow

Ranger might actually be really strong with Xbow. Pathfinder: Corrosive gas grenades stacking armour stripping poisons, HV rounds constantly consuming the armour break to multiply damage. Faster movement while shooting. Deadeye: Grenades and artillery skills with extra proj, if tailwind gives action speed that's faster reload too. Still, had thought up so many cool ideas for unique ranger ascendancies and we seem to have basically got the same ones ported over. Hopefully the unknown nodes are special.

I was thinking that as well. I was interested in running a pathfinder poison build (I love pathfinder in poe1) and was thinking you can spread poisons hard with grenades. Also they start in similar locations I think?

Poison is capped at 1 stack in PoE 2. With that node you can have 2 stacks running.

you have ways to stack more poison (with support) and the vine arrow skill (every poison you build up on the flowers will be transfered to the target, bypassing the max number of poison stack you can normaly have)

you can end up with about 8 poison on the enemy from what we know so far. 1 by default 2 or 3 from the tree and 1 from the support gem. then 2x from the ascendency

Guessing the 1st ascendancy on the way to Endless Munitions is going to be a Far Shot/Near Shot thing as that is an obvious choice, or a Pierce/Fork option

Ranger gets all the hate, but oh man... with WASD and reduced movement penalty/tailwind she is going to be the go to for those who like bullet hell games. And will get even more hate. We will see builds that die in one hit, for people who can make them work.

we won't. Without life being on the tree there is no point of building glass cannon ranger if you can have life of your ranger and like every other char having the ability to take few hits. In poe1 people did this, removing life nodes and using mostly uniques without life but in poe2 you won't win anything with that approach. Not even talking that failing boss is kinda bad thing.

Overwhelming toxicity kinda is implying there is a cap on stacks of poison in PoE 2, if so then doubling it should still be a DPS increase on single target as long as you can sustain around the doubled cap with the shorter duration.

Accuracy Penalty if I had to guess, will be a penalty to accuracy rating after a certain distance which this will negate. Sounds like Tornado Shot type builds will no longer work unless Deadeye

I am torn between ranger and monk. I love rangers/archers as a general rule, I will admit it looks the least exciting, but feels like a great choice even still since I love that kind of class and would love to play it in this game, as for Monk, that class just looks really cool. Also that node before additional projectiles looks like a familiar/pet summon.

My favorite class in POE1 has always been Ranger. However I’m extremely hesitant to run Ranger. Also not being allowed to change ascendency in the same class makes me weary on trying any build.

Hey Ghazzy and or commentors, I was wondering if this was ever answered for POE 2. As of EA launch the skill tree will have 6 starting nodes for each of the classes, but when the other 6 classes are released will the tree get bigger and have more nodes or will the added classes share a starting point with the existing classes?

no, there are actually 12 starting points already, they are like in pairs, for example witch and elementalists have 2 same starting points, because they are both int. Ranger (the only dex class rn) has 2 starting points close to each other. There is not templar and druid for now, and they are the only str/int classes, so no class in release will actually be able to start in top left

Did you try "Cast on channel" with "Barrage" while channeling "Snipe" in order to shoot 3 snipes at the same time ? I got a feeling this combo, with "Detonating Arrow" at level 31 will be broken and make the ranger a very good choice for EA. Since the strength of poison depends on the initial damage anyway, you can still play poison while buffing direct physical damage and add "Corrosion" to your poison shots. Once the armor is broken, triple snipe will make short work of anything. If Barrage work only with basic attack, I'll be sad...

I don't think poison duration is as important as in PoE1. With one or very few poisons the overlap is not as vital and with many small ones ramping up to a huge amount. Reapplying them quickly could be just as good.

I've yet to see anyone talk about the change to poisons hinted at by Overwhelming Toxicity. If you double the number of poisons you can inflict, that seems to suggest they've removed poison's greatest asset from PoE 1: that it can be stacked without limit.

I was thinking of trying witch and monk, but then i had a look at some of the bow skills and i might go back to ranger. I’ve played ranger (raider) the most in POE so I’ll most likely play it at some point anyway. Thinking of league starting with it to map and build currency then maybe make a bosser after. Does anyone know the mechanics of how rain of arrows works? Looking at the gem i can’t see how that skill isn’t completely busted for ranger if it works similar to poe1

Any class can use any gear or skill as long as they have enough attributes (str, dex, int) for them. I haven't seen any swords yet, but they will ad the class signature weapons when the other classes are released. Swords would be duelist.

I so wanna play poe2, but want my stash tabs, yr or two back went from PS4 to PC, Sony stuff, n the fact I can play with controller is great n then they said we were getting everything merged but now oh wait can't, Sony, I wanna support GGG, wanna get more than basic pack but not wanting to repay for stuff I've already paid for, been hard without stash, I know they can do something, it's GGG, forgot Sony, at least give us the same points, have it to where we can't get anything but what we already purchased or something.
