Malthaels best strength: being Malthael.
@Anderslash6 жыл бұрын
Okay, now let's swap sides. If you were Alarak, what would you do to win the lane and the objective against Malthael?
@Onshki6 жыл бұрын
Land a combo. Seriously though. That Alarak missed a lot of combos.
@halohalo59606 жыл бұрын
Take Show of Force at 4 and land your combos ( on video Alarak missed a lot ) to deplete Malthaels mana. Mal Q is kinda mana hungry. But honestly dont pick Alarak on solo lane if you dont want to punish some wierd pick like Probius. After concideration dont pick Alarak at all if you play for win :P

I'd ask Gul'dan to switch lanes with me. Maybe he would do better against Malth.

Rotate more and get picks so that way bottom lane can set up ganks for you or just get a massive exp lead.
@iLikePizza8296 жыл бұрын
TL:DR 1) get a counterpick 2) bully your enemy 3) profit
@NotParadox6 жыл бұрын
My reason for making the video is showing more of how you can be a lane winner and still bring nothing to the table. If you're malth and sit and auto attack towers after pushing you're not playing to your strengths. If you're not a good ganker and waste your time ganking, you're not playing to your strengths. I see too many people have counter picks and they get nothing out of it.
@iLikePizza8296 жыл бұрын
I understand, you did great showing that, however just like arthas game you're showing us and replay in which enemy had absolutely no chances (just beacuse hero mehanics) and watching it makes me feel pity for him. Maybe show a replay in which you both had alike chances and to work somehow harder for win, or maybe even from perspective of underdog (if you get counterpicked and your team draft no other people capable of solo lane, or somone's else replay) and what he should do to benefit his team.
@klabauterbaer5 жыл бұрын
That's what I was thinking as well. You did a good job showing how to apply pressure, if you win the waveclear battle. But following your logic - the Alarak could have done nothing (not missing his combos and such aside) to play towards his own strengths in this matchup. So showing how to play towards your strengths in an even matchup would be interesting.

Thanks for these videos, i enjoy this content a LOT!
@ephemispriest80696 жыл бұрын
Not many strong laners I encounter do any of this. They try and pressure you all the way to towers and then end up dying.
@NotParadox6 жыл бұрын
This is why I made the video. People get caught up in the "but you're playing malth and hes a lane bully" but they don't see me sitting at his towers auto attacking or see me trying to gank lanes when those are not my strengths. Malths strengths are wave and camp clear so I play to those strength and it allows me to bully way more than trying to basic attack structures or go for ganks.
@podaniteodor22566 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, because a lot of melee AA the towers when there is Diablo or Alarak behind them. Secondly, that Alarak didn't even try to take wider turns around that corner while he missed a lot of Discord Strikes. But I get the message.

Thx for sharing this, your guides are always useful. I wanted to ask, are you going to cover somehow how to understand what maps are good/bad for the various heroes or how the same hero can be built differently according to the map? I'm quite bad at grasping nuances of maps and often when I hear some pro saying hero X is good on Y map without explicitly saying why I never fully grasp the reasons, so that would help a lot
@NotParadox6 жыл бұрын
I am planning on going through a "A-Z Basics" for every hero where I talk about their meta build, their best maps and a replay analysis for every hero in the game. I don't know when I will start it or how long it will go but it's slowly becoming a priority on my list.

What should i do as solo laner if an enemy solo laner leaves and 4v5 team fight happens. And that’s not an objective time
@Onshki6 жыл бұрын
You really should just keep soaking. Your team should be aware that you're getting value and they just need to stay alive and not commit.
@CaptainSnakeViewer6 жыл бұрын
Generally, the earlier the game is, the more you wanna soak, especially if you have good waveclear. If you notice this happen, ping retreat/danger and callout "5v4, I'm not there care", "im soaking (X lane) care" or something like that. However, Level +20 always join the team because soak becomes unimportant by this level.

As a main Alarak (lvl 120+) I can assure you the match up VS Malthael is clearly in favor of Malthael. But that's not the problem : I would have asked Dva to rotate top, she is useless bot, and pilot form enables you handle Malth' much more easily. Alarak could also have taken a better 1v1 build with lvl 4 "show of strengh" instead of late q spell quest...
@NotParadox6 жыл бұрын
My issue was that he only ever tried to gank bot once and it was successful then he never tried again. His strengths is getting picks, not trying to 1v1 a malth or try to out wave clear or out camp. He thrives in surprise ganks and getting picks for his team.

Why didnt Gul'dan Go in the solo lane? Wouldn't he be better against a malthael?
@opten84666 жыл бұрын
He would be, but if he rotated all their wave clear down bottom would be gone, and the jaina on his team would constantly push them in.

honestly last rites isn't really that great of ult most of the time i consider it terrible 8:11 it did nothing like no damage to gul'dan and gul'dan was already going to die anyways at that low hp, on top of that you cast it on gul'dan who was close to 40% to 45% hp. only thing you got out of that ult was lower quest on it. but still most people start running etc... you won the fight anyways, all last rites really is, is a finishing ult that is usually countered easily since it takes 2 secs to go off.

No matter how hard you try or how good you are if one of ur team members decides to go braindead it is over.
@nicholasrolison9266 жыл бұрын
*@Canaldecasta* I've actually had matches like that, it's the unfortunate consequence of playing a team game. I would try to power through the "GOD (X) YOU'RE SO BAD, WTF ARE YOU DOING?" and just start making callouts like "rotate lanes" or "get this camp". If you get people focusing on the actual game over who/what's going wrong, you can salvage some pretty dire situations.
@Micras086 жыл бұрын
I find myself thinking this from time to time as well, but really it is to be expected in QM/HL, more in the latter, but yeah. So basically my point is this: It's basically your own fault for not finding a TL/Unranked team - sounds harsh but it's the truth :P
@StewartStewart4 жыл бұрын
10:27 "But you also win in experience" You're not actually leading in experience contribution. I mean, you're clearly winning the solo lane and leading siege, but how did he get ahead in experience?
@rafaelmolinar24516 жыл бұрын
show examples of strengths for every hero........ can u do it?!
@NotParadox6 жыл бұрын
I mean I would definitely want to, it will take me time. Put simply, there are 3 majors ones I look out for. Picks (people who can either setup kills like alarak/kerrigan or people who can finish kills like Li-ming/genji) Wave Clear (people who have enough in their kit to quickly blow up a wave) Camp clear (people who can do camps quickly and/or efficiently.) If you're playing someone like Johanna you can double soak and cover 2 lanes easily for your team because of your high wave clear, but camps would take forever and ganks would be mostly weak. So by playing to your strengths of wave clear you can clear up the thing you're good at and give your team more time to cover what they are good at. Each solo laner has mini roles not just in trades but everything. There are smaller strengths like pokes, hard engages and CC. At the end of the day it's just coming up with something you can gain if you're winning and something you can use if you're losing.

You played your best, but seriously... that Alarak was just bad. He couldn't land combos. And when he knew, you were hiding around the corner, he could just use his W.
@Damortus36 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I thought, with that W. Or he could just destroy the wave (it's easier with Alarak than one would think) and simply attack him through the wall.
