Xenoblade chronicles 3 is a masterpiece. I bought a switch just to play it and preorder the dlc, that was sooo worth it. Japanese games don't sell us incomplete games.

I love this kind of video. It really breaks up the daily game news grind. I appreciate all the work and editing that goes in to this stuff. I never would have even considered some of these games if it wasn’t for your channel. I’m so glad I bought Triangle Strategy, Octopath Traveler, Live A Live. I never cared about JRPGs before I discovered your channel. I’ve since downloaded chronotrigger on my ps3 (yes, the ps3 store is still active; who knew?), I’m working through every Final Fantasy on my Switch. I’ve gotten through FF iv and FF vi, FF vii; I just started FFX. It’s incredible to have this whole knew world of games to get into. I just purchased raincode and persona 4. I got sort of stuck in Xenobkabe 3, but I’m going to get back into it. There’s literally decades of jrpgs to catch up on. Thanks, Dude.

As somebody whose favorite game is Astral Chain, it makes me so happy to see you put it at number 3 of your favorites. I cannot talk about Astral Chain enough. Unlike other games where there is at least one thing that really bothers me, I have nothing that I can really point out as bad when it comes to Astral Chain. The only problems I have with it are more nitpicks than anything. I've played it quite a few times and I've even been going through a second completionist run of the game. It is rare for me to go on a completionist run of a game that is not a metroidvania game, so for me to go through two completionist runs of Astral Chain really says how much I love it. Now if only Nintendo would announce a sequel to the game already. You can't just buy the full rights to the game and leave us hanging Nintendo.

I feel the same! The atmosphere, the lore, the combat, everything is crafted perfectly in Astral Chain. I have 200+ hours in it and I still play it sometimes

@@scalicali8073 I agree, the combat is easily the best of the Platinum Games games that I've played. The story isn't the best and the enemies aren't as expanded upon in the database as I would like, but those aren't problems for me. When I first got the game, I ended up playing over 200 hours on my first save file. That first save file was mostly me going through the story 9 times in a row.

@@galaxy-eyesgarchomp9478 I feel the story is quite good actually, it doesn't compare to Nier Automata ofc but it is quite simple yet enjoyable and it has more highs than lows. My favorite file is the 6th one, it has everything, stealth, combat, a crazy boss fight at the end and it really expanded the story in a nice way. I do agree with the enemies' database, I think the sequel can greatly improve on that

I gotta say, normally when I watch these types of videos it's the same same same, and whilst i appreciate that of course many of the same good games are gonna keep turning up in lists (and i don't want them to be completely full of indy titles cos i'm looking for info on what's best full stop), it's nice to see you list and explain a bit more in-depth about some other great games, along with the tried and true ones. I like with your method of combining sequels together where appropriate instead of splitting them and taking up too much room. Good explanations and the footage was more advanced for some games that i haven't played much or at all yet (like the metroid dread footage) but didn't spoil anything major either. Nice vid! I'll subscribe and be sure to listen to your lists/opinions in the future as I either own or have flagged basically everything on your list! :D

Xenoblade is my favourite franchise on Switch with Zelda coming close at #2. That puts Monolith Soft at the top of my favourite developers list. Platinum games is also under appreciated with Astral Chain, Bayonetta 3 and Nier Automata. Other games, such as Persona 5 (Altus) and Danganronpa (Spike Chunsoft) are among my favourites….even if they’re not switch exclusives. I’m currently playing Rain Code from spike chunsoft and that is a switch exclusive. The crazy thing is that Mario Odyssey is probably my all time favourite Mario game and it wouldn’t even rank in my top 10 on this system. Too many good games.

My backlog for Switch game is so big right now that I will be fine for the next few years even if they don't announce Switch 2.

I have nearly half of the games on your list, so I clearly approve of this list. Xenoblade 3 stresses me out (never played it before prior) because I feel a commitment need to it that I don't feel I have at 35. I love what little I've played of it but I always give it second fiddle. I've been playing octopath traveler 2 almost exclusively lately and I get none of that same tension.

I never played the first or second game I just started with the 3rd and it was awesome. I took my time playing it, like honestly it’s the first game that I’ve finished that I want to continue to finish everything in the game or like restart or play the 1st and 2nd now lol. It’s honestly the best story and gameplay is awesome. You get all the emotions with this game. I cried many times. Haha

My favourite games on the Switch are Fire Emblem : Three Houses, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Luigi's Mansion 3. I think Luigi's Mansion 3 was fantastic but they need to go slightly darker for the next one, not as much as the first one but sometimes the game was too light. Otherwise I loved Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Tears of the Kingdom. I'm having a blast with Pikmin 4 now.

I was excited to play Persona 5 Royal, since I heard a lot about it. However, turn based combat and I don't have the best relationship. As such, I was worried that the turn based combat of Royal would turn me away from it. All those worries were blown away when I started playing it. It is such a beautiful game and the combat is surprisingly fast paced. Persona 5 Royal is my 6th favorite game, but I don't see anything beyond my top 5 games surpassing it anytime soon. I've even been playing Persona 4 Golden lately and loving that too.

I wasn’t sure to try Persona 5 until one day I decided to buy it and give it a shot. Played the game about 50 hours and I dropped it. Too much text, all the time, every time, meaningless text at every corner. Not sure if it’s got something to do with my age, but high school dramas and personalities are way too boring and sometimes stupid for me. Nevertheless, I’m aware it’s a great polished game. Combat is great and the music excellent.

Diablo 3 is a must own its the most switch friendly game. You can pick up and play anywhere. You can have long game sessions or short sessions. It feels like it was made for the switch.

Persona 5 and Xenoblade 2 are two games I will never forget. P5 consumed me completely. The story in XC2 hooked me more than XC3, although 3 was definitely a better game. The music in XC2 particularly… oh my... Absolutely beyond description. Godlike. Breathtaking.

I don't think I've even played 25 games but I mostly agree with your top games, here's what I think would be my list: 1. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and 2 (haven't played DE) 2. Super Smash Bros Ultimate 3. Tears of the Kingdom 4. FE Three Houses 5. Breath of the Wild 6. Super Mario Odyssey 7. Astral Chain 8. FEW Three Hopes 9. Rocket League (might not be the best experience but I've played it a lot) 10. Atelier Ryza 1 11. Dragon Quest XI (Haven't finished it) 12. Super Mario 3d All Stars (I mostly played Galaxy but it fell short on the other 2) 13. Mario Kart 8 14. Pokemon Sword / Shield 15. Ring Fit Adventure 16. Narruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Trilogy 17. The only think I'll say about this list is, for example with the dragon quest listing, I don't have a problem with its ranking but if you showed more gameplay clips of it rather than cut scenes I'd be more inclined to try it if I know what I'm getting. Its annoying to me when watching video game reviews and release announcements and all the show are cut scene footage. I want to know what I'll be doing not what I'll be watching

Nice list! I own 10 games on this list but only played 4 of them. For me Nier Automata is the only game that matters. Finally 6 months from beating it I've gotten over being in denial over certain facts and theories I've come up with regarding the story and characters. I never expected to get so sucked in. Can't wate to play Xenoblade. Was holding out to play the series in order from xeno gears on an actual PS1.

Overall, I ended up being disappointed in the IPs. I liked Ori more than dread, 20$CAD vs 80$CAD. I liked Witcher 3 WAY more than BotW, 40$CAD vs 80$CAD. Luigis mansion was okay, Link's awakening was fine, Odyssey was great though... I just hope I find my itch in Fire Emblem and Xenoblade which I'm going for next.

To no surprise Zelda #1 I try to love this new direction for the series but it's not for me I did finish Breath but got bored with Tears (maybe in the future I will try it again). Bayonetta 3 for me has the worst story and the level designs are boring ASF I prefer the first 2. It's a shame Luigi's Mansion 3 got no love especially when it's one of the best looking switch games on the system in my opinion. Somewhat good list but definitely missing some good ones like Luigi's Mansion 3, Yoshi s Crafted World (for me is very good platformer) and Metroid Prime Remastered to name a few. My top 5 Switch games are: 01- Astral Chain 02- Metroid Dread 03- Panzer Paladin 04- Luigi's Mansion 3 05- Bowser's Fury (DLC)
