I love Russel but Natalie did play a good game. She was the one who after the merge turned the other tribe against Eric, one of their own, and as a result they destroyed their own tribe. I agree about the bad casting. Hannah shouldn't have made it through to even get on the show. Also why are they casting so many lawyers? Are there 3 of them this season? In their defense, I can totally see why you’d hide being a lawyer in the game. As a lawyer, your entire job is to argue your point and convince people to see things a certain way. Lawyers are a strategic threat especially at the final tribal council where you plead your case to the jury, something lawyers literally do all the time in their work. Not saying Jake and Katurah actually ended up being strategic threats or that it will make you one, but it is definitely something that could be a target on your back and potential reason for people to want to vote you out especially close to the end.

I just finished season 19 of survival. I must say, you fully deserved that win. I'm honestly upset that was the year you got played such an awful card. It would of easily been appreciated in current times. Not only were you strategic but you were *extremely* likeable to everyone in your tribe. Even with the lack of bitterness you still weren't given a fair win. I hope you know that people watch your season and remember your prowess. Truly unforgettable. Maybe you not winning was bittersweet, it showed the flaws of survival. Excited to see you in the later seasons as I make my way over. Much care from someone somewhere in the states!

Also in episode 2 when the tribes showed up to the challenge he said “Hannah voted out at the last tribal” didn’t even allude to the fact that she quit. I was so frustrated. In this day and age I guess you can’t even be slightly critical of someone at the risk of hurting their feelings.

The oringinal person for casting most of the seasons...I believe is a woman but I can't remember her name.Whatever the issue Survivor did not renew her contract.Big mistake because ever since she stopped casting players the show started to go downhill fast.I hope Survivor brings her back or this show is doomed.Australian Survivor isn't perfect but the casting has been great.Last few seasons have been highly entertaining..it's like old school Survivor now.

There really needs to be a movement started by Survivor fans to get casting changed. If we can't get the original casting director back because she's retired, maybe she could at least appoint a rightful heir to the position. Or else we'll continue to get this over-representation of coastal people who just want to be on the show for attention, rather than play the game.

Hannahs quit is awful, and it's sad because so many people have been trying out for years and they would have loved to be in her spot. She also is the earliest quit in survivor history which is something I thought I would never see in modern day survivor. By now people know what they are getting into when they apply for survivor. Also it's still a shorter season ( 26 days instead of 39) so it's worse to see a quit as they don't have to be out there as long.

I think it was Courtney before who tried out Survivor expecting to be voted out first and getting herself some sort of vacation. But she hung on and lasted to the very end. I feel the same way. But I think Russel quit on us for a completely different reason. Whenever he involves himself in some sort of drama, he lays low for a while despite promising us continued coverage of the seasons. I love Russell and his takes, but its hard keep being loyal fan for this. I couldn't believe that after the long hiatus he took after the fantasy football scandal, he comes back to us saying he's going to focus on members only content. I wouldn't pay for inconsistent content. We'll probably see him again after the Wendell thing has been forgotten, only for him to leave again after another scandal.

Lots of focus on Lulu in the 1st episode and it’s a horrible tribe so far. I’m thinking someone from that tribe will turn out to be a pivotal player in the game and I have a feeling it might be Sabiyah. Her partnership so far with Kaleb should carry both of them to a merge into 2 tribes and from there they just have to land on the right side of some votes or challenges.

I think if she can just make it through some of these challenges she’ll have some good game play.. she knows how to keep quiet so far anyways… we’ll see? The other tribes have the physical abilities.. but as we’ve seen in many previous seasons, that can only get a player so far. In fact rarely as it looks more like a threat. I love survivor, watched every season, and some more 2-3 times. lol This has to be the worst of all time for the first episode, I think it's a bit early to say the worst cast of all time, but I think they will need to shave off a few more to make things a lot more interesting. If all they do is show us people complaining about how hard it is, that get's pretty annoying. I mean come on, yes is tough, but why show us people just crying about it the whole time? I didn't hate the episode but it definitely was a weak premiere. I do like the cast though. I don't have any issue with Brandon, he is most likely going to go far and a big character this season, just you wait and see. It's going to be interesting to see how the first true 90 minute episode goes because the premiere doesn't really count as premieres are actually normally longer.

Just commenting to say that fasting does NOT improve acid reflux. Usually its advised to eat small meals regularly to prevent the build up and back flow of stomach acid. This could be why it was bad for his since he wasnt eating. Not excusing him, he was pathetic but entertaining to watch

Your Right Russell the problem is casting sucks and its because these new casting directors are hired out of woke schools that made them hate what made Survivor so great, the same thing that happened to Bud Light is now happening to our favorite show just in slow motion (last 8 years or so), and these woke directors don't see no nonsense real men and woman as being people of character, and ability that should be on a show like Survivor, instead they want people who have identity issues, low self-esteem, and no ability to do much of anything accept bitch and wine because that's what they identify with. Iv seen every episode of Survivor but I'm not sure its worth the effort anymore, to much crying might as well be Oprah or Dr. Phil, at least I've got reruns of the good old days, Survivor Samoa, Heroes vs Villains, Redemption Island, and even Australian Survivor : Champions vs Contenders you sure put the fear in them, way to go Russell.

It's quotas over qualify now. It seems like they sorted the list of applicants from best to worst and started from the bottom of the list. The men are crying, the women are lost and quitting. No one knows how to start a friction fire, even though they are given a handbook on it in advance. After watching the first episode of this season, I realize there will never be another great player again as they are intentionally selecting clueless people to meet a quota. They achieved what I believed to be impossible. They cast someone in survivor who is worse at challenges than J'Tia and should have been the first one out.

I have been looking forward to your observations. You would have a better idea because you have been apart of the show but it seems that the editing is so obvious now. Everyone is in team colors on the way to the ship, how much have they already interacted or what info on the other players do they have? It seems that the production in creating and emphasizing certain characters is so obvious. When I first heard Emily talking about being so competitive immediately I thought of you. An all or nothing player. Then she starts trying to call out other players so vocally it seemed so staged.

I think Emily is someone to root for. I agree that her gameplay was a little kamikaze, but if I was on the same tribe as her I would have a hard time toning it down, too. She actually was saying what I was thinking, so maybe that's why I like her. Hoping she doesn't get herself voted off!

I get the season opener was a let down and all and the quit was jarring. But can we not at all look at the good of the episode? Theres more players then just hannah brandon bruce etc Id say there are some good personalities (few and far between) and im curious to see how these players utilize the social landscape. Im talking about players like Sean and Kaleb who I think have potential to run great social games and players like Drew and Janani and katurah seem like more cutthroat and intelligent players. Fuck it even Brando interests to me.
