They were 19-15 when Kobe got hurt that year. Then was 25-23 when he came back. They went 1-3 after the coaching change while Kobe was gone. When Kobe came back they went 9-25. If anything the coaching change despite being over .500. Might’ve been what caused it. But they lost hella games once Kobe came back. They stayed a float while he was gone That team honestly just want good at all that year. Aside from Kobe. And it wasn’t enough. The 8th seed won 45 games that year. The 7th had damn near 50 wins. It was a tough year. That’s what people miss

A better season doesn't particularly mean a better player in my opinion. Always different circumstances. See this is the prime example why when you're speaking on individual accomplishments and accolades you can't factor in team accomplishments in accolades. The best player in the world could be playing with the worst teammates in the world, that doesn't make them a bad player. It doesn't even them out into a okay player. They still are who they are. If someone is averaging 35 6 and 6 and doing everything he possibly can to win, and the team doesn't show up, how does that make any other player better than him according to what they're doing in the league? This is the argument that I put into the Jordan conversation when people talk about the years that he didn't win. Jordan was clearly the best player in the league by his third or fourth year. And even the players in the league admitted it. But he didn't win until his 7th. So I can't rank someone above him because the team wasn't delivering even though he was. That's why rankings and the goat conversation should only include individual stats and the eye test. It takes teams to win championships!

while I don’t blame Kobe for missing the playoffs in 05 it’s kinda wild that some folks don’t want to give the same excuse for Bron in 2019 in his 16th seed or shoot this year in his 19th year. All these seasons these players got hurt 🤣

@@Kuroganemk2 Kobe was in prime in 05 & team had problems & injuries . Lakers missed the playoffs for similar reasons in 2019 plus Bron was older.

I think it’s because bron has giving us reason to think about how injured he is because he’s such a tank and he will have a spectacular dunk after the injury and then miss games but I definitely liked that 2019 team and they could’ve done some damage in the playoffs if healthy

The visual of kobe moving slower and jumping not as high and having the tape on the finger makes it more legendary. But also when you’re bron and not as injured we hold you to that standard

They don't understand what he is saying... he is just saying how the players performed that year. Just that year... so you can have a player that nobody ever heard of have a breakout year and be rank number 1 for the year. He's not saying that player is better than the superstars. He is just saying that they performed better that year
