Yo Marz they did used to have awards voted by players. The Players voting harden mvp over steph in 2015 is actually one of the reasons steph went into 2016 with an chip on his shoulder (the lacknof respect for the chip as well obviously). It went so poorly that it didn't last long. Turns out just because you play or played doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. The player voted awards SUCKED. Anyone that has paid attention to player voting for all star over the years would tell you. They are NOT good at it.

Talking about change of direction and giving it to Luka is crazy. SGA driving game is a lot of change of directions. He has so many option he can to to after he drives, if you push him away effectivly he just stop and pulls up because you body is on him, if you try to predict his driving directions he goes the other way and pulls up, if you stay close effectively push off/ turn around.

To be fair Cade doesn't have a player like Brandon Miller in Detroit. You can say Ivey is there but he has been out. What's impressive about Cade is he impacting winning with his second-best player being Beasley and having no secondary playmaker. Even when Ivey was in the lineup he really hasn't been ball dominant and Cade is still asked to facilitate everything. Feel like once he gets a secondary ball handler his turnovers will go way down.

Shai is playing better than Luka this season, but Luka is usually better. Luka has been better than him every year but this one, and Luka has played at the level Shai is playing at more(this season) often. So Luka>Shai genarally. Embiid is also generally better than Shai but the gap there is closer due to the playoffs. Based on the 2020s: 1. Giannis 2. Jokic (Really doesn't matter who's 1 and 2 between Joker and Giannis) 3. Luka (Luka gets the edge over Embiid because their playoff career is night and day while both performing at similar levels in the regular season. I think Embiid performs better in the regular season though) 4. Embiid 5. Shai (Shai always seemed to be worse than the other 4 guys. I feel he was always closer to the older superstars than these guys in a general sense. Don't get me wrong. He's playing like the 3rd best player this season and will win MVP unless Jokic and Giannis get their seeding up)

Regarding the players vs the media when it comes to awards responsibility. I think it's a matter of "choosing between the devil you tolerate the most". But for me, either the nba finds a way to incorporate the players into all nba, mvp, dpoy, mip, etc... or it stays the way it is. Because, from a player's perspective, they'd rather have an outsider (journalist) being biased against them than their piers. Even though Embiid's mvp wasn't a pity, we all know a former player basically swung the voting in his favor. But I also get the people (players and fans) that do not like the fact that some of the voters do not even watch games and vote based on likability or stats sheet.
