There are differences... broja spoke about going back to Albania yearly.. Players like bukayo saka, Tammy, Tomori have never been to their fatherland, they almost have no connection apart from the name they bear. 🤷‍♂️

I don't think you can blame those players for choosing nations like England or France. They have a way greater chance of winning a major tournament with them and also a lot of their mates in football would be playing for those nations at youth level. Also hard to feel a way about a country you haven't really lived in. I was born in England and I feel nothing

@@KMax246 , People choose pride and honor over success. Broja’s statement is more powerful than if he ever appeared for England. He’s essentially telling young Albanian children ‘you can be great and be Albanian….you don’t have to become German or English’ …that’s powerful. There’s a certain type of pride these people have that seemingly is something you can’t comprehend…but I don’t blame you, Africans have been conditioned much different to most in the world. Saka could’ve played for Nigeria, a team that has chances of going to the World Cup regularly….many Moroccans, Serbs, Turks, Albanians play youth football for the team they grew up in but ultimately choose the country of their origin, I don’t think they care too much about…their ‘friends’, they see a bigger picture. Nigeria is actually a better team than Albania with more chances of winning something..and yet…they struggle to recruit players more?? It’s a cultural thing, and your response is evidence of that, some people’s identity and sense of honour can be bought with promises of personal success, others can’t.

I've been following Armando from Australia since he started at Southampton. It then came as somewhat of a surprise when I found out that his parents had come from 'Liqeni i Shkodrës' which is opposite the Lake from where my parent's were from in Montenegro. We could be distant relations. It's an honour to see someone from our community with so much potential making a name for himself. My cousin Mehmet Durakovic who represented Australia 43 times back in the 80's and 90's and even had a stint against Maradona.
