Loved the monitor idea, then you went further with the steampunk. Awesome!

Thank you for creating this series. I'm opening an escape room next month and wanted to partner with local businesses/non-profits on events such as this. Great ideas & walk-through of your thought process! Much appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback, and I'm really glad you found it helpful! I think escape rooms can be a great way to engage people in public spaces - libraries, museums, even churches are settings that provide thematic and narrative experiences far richer than you get from a generic "escape the room" in a modular building somewhere. Good luck with your business, and please do let me know how you get on!

I really agree with you. Usually I build a haunted house each year but this year I want to build a scary escape room. I've been researching a lot recently, and I've got to say Playful Technology has been the most helpful so far. Thanks for taking your time and posting these videos. Keep up the good work!

This is great and i have some ideas now to create an escape room for fun first😁 but i dont understand something. How did you write the message in the screen? So i understand that you cut off the inside of the monitor the lcd screen but how is the message there? I would really approciate your answer. Thank you and keep going🙂

Loved watching this series! It's very informative. Now I'm kinda curious about the typewriter you used and how you 'fixed' it. One question for the future: is it possible to do videos in 1080p quality? It would make things like the diagram better legible. Thank and I'm looking forward to future videos.

Hi - thanks for the comment, and glad you've found the videos helpful! I'll be honest and say that I'm still working on improving the video setup - I've just purchased a better webcam and I have some better lighting, so hopefully you'll notice an improvement in the video quality soon!

I'm thinking of using this in my upcoming room escape build, but since it's going to be self-contained and portable (i.e., everything in one box), I'd need to use a laptop. I presume this would work with a laptop monitor equally well?
